I believe that Musharraf was overthrown by Kayani with US support. So, yes, they will even change the COAS if US demanded it.

I don't think there's any point in having another election under the existing failed system. The same electables will come back, and there's no chance of PTI winning a 2/3 majority. They probably won't even get a simple majority.

Pakistan needs major reforms, and if they don't do it then there's nothing to prevent complete failure. Economically Pakistan is a basket case anyways. At what point will the establishment come to their senses?

When we get military leadership with balls, that will come in, abrogate this crap constitution and unleash the 'chittar' without mercy.

Can you also elaborate on the kind of supporters the PTI's hold is on? I smell snobbery. Otherwise how are the PTI supporters in the slums of Peshawar or those of the PPP's in the interior Sind or those of PML-N in the lower classes of Punjab any different? The core of any political party are the lower income, less educated masses because they buy into the party's pitch. Just wondering why is Karachi and MQM any different?

Because we are talking specific to Karachi and as predicted I am taking flak for calling the demographics what they are but essentially lower middle class(not necessarily urdu speaking) inhabitants of the clustered low income densely populated apartment blocks.

Yes, you're right. MQM's hardcore support is among lower-middle class voters. Most better educated people have switched to PTI.

And those too from specific areas in Karachi or rather old Karachi areas. Area where MQM originated from.

If we live in a world where the likes of PPP or PML can always "come back" we know something's fundamentally wrong.

The culprit is the establishment. But I think the establishment is "passively" involved rather than being directly involved in the return of the "electables". This is how it works out:

1) Establishment thinks the "electables" can come back one day and sit on the throne, hence they deserve pardon. Therefore, ignore all NAB cases, and pressurize the supreme court into cancelling bails, and dropping cases. This allows the establishment to have a bargaining chip in the future, and force them to give incentives to the establishment-industrial complex.

2) Hence, the "electables" survive to see another day, and continue with their everyday feudal politics. Subsequently, they exploit the "flawed system" you talked about, to collude with foreign powers, to undermine state institutions, judiciary, army and anti corruption bureaucracy to get NRO.

3) The "electables" again come to power, and continue to sustain the exact "flawed system" you talked about.

The biggest problem is that, the Establishment is working with the assumption that the "familiar" political parties are integral part of Pakistan, hence they must be supported, and always given an escape route when a leader such as Imran Khan emerge. They do that for future benefits. And that "future" is an abstract which the establishment wants to keep believing in. Hence, they keep supporting it. The result is that, the cycle of electables coming to power continues, while the ordinary man is just looking at the flawed system from a distance, helpless.

You have already heard the news, that the National Security Council has endorsed the letter. But do you still remember when Establishment pawns, like Shahzain Bugti left the government on flimsy grounds? Or when the Aleem Khan group decided to move towards PDM even when govt. capitulated and agreed to Pervaiz Elahi for the CM spot? It seems they never wanted Buzdar out in the first place. There was something else going on.

Imran Khan has forced the establishment to side with him in this political fiasco. This could be the start of a reformation process of a flawed system. But as history tells us, the establishment cannot side with Imran Khan completely, because if even there is a 0.1% chance that the "electables" come back to power, they will damage all the little fantasies and dreams the establishment has constructed for itself over the last 70 years. If a superpower like the USA can help the establishment distance itself from a powerful civilian leader like Imran Khan, they will be more than happy about it. And the last few days show that they were VERY happy about it.

This is why, without the magical reformation of the Establishment, there can be no change in Pakistan.

To the fellow dishearted Pakistanis:

Don't lose hope. We as a nation are prone to giving up too quickly. This is only a start, IK will come back stronger.

However, it's very important that the "Clean" people around him also take up important appearances to continue his legacy. As it's done for generations with other political parties.

Whether people want to believe this or not, his life is now in danger. Possibly by the opposition even, so that his newfound popularity dies with him. (Most probably a Zardari's hitman)

IK is VERY stubborn and needs to loosen up a little, listen to true loyalists around him who are giving him sound advice.

I refuse to believe that half of Pakistan is just going to sit back and say "Oh well".

Don't take out your anger on the army either (I have been guilty of it too). Their hands are tied to an extent. Disowning your military is exactly what some countries want. Don't fall for it! Once you lose that faith, there is nothing else left to believe in for Pakistan. It's the psychological battle being waged against you.

Take away the result here this way; The three stooges went to every extent of immorality to re-gain power. They don't have much going on for them anymore besides a handful of diehard fans and traitors. Their filth is slowly but surely washing away. People and azad media will watch their actions like a hawk now.

We may not have IK forever but he will leave us with that taste of independence, that frankly none of us have been around to witness as it was in 1947.

Knowing that the corrupt chain in fact CAN be broken, will produce hundreds IK in years to come.

India especially wants you to lose hope. Don't give in!

I really don’t get why all are chanting for army to kick in. If army came in things will get really messy. How Pakistani could this be , “ main bulata hun abhi waday brah nu ya dasna abba nu.” You need to stand own your own someday and this is the right time i would say. It is time to test the people of Pakistan and their allegiance.
Think clear and don’t let emotions get the better of you.
Remember the letter has been exposed and even if PM lost he has won the masses, or I think so unless people of Pakistan just want subsidised goods and screw the economy while doing that.

And remember this too, if he looses then he will come back with vengeance.

No matter what, he has shown what a true leader is, strength of character, unwavering belief in his goal and a vision to free a nation.

I just hope people rally behind him or better yet stand with him.

I have heard many arguments regarding Malala, conspiracies like she is a Christian/Catholic girl from Armenia to that her father is a illuminati, but no one I ever talked to about Malala referred her as a Whore or any other foul language, she is a child and even the worse critic of her acknowledges that, they blame her father and other forces for the debacle but not the kid. So you comment mentioning a relative calling her whore is way off to mark, why you even have such relatives? and why not educate them to use better language ?
