What's illegal is illegal, people need to find other means of putting food in their mouths, like they used to before. These large scale slaughter houses are a very recent thing and have only cropped up in the past decade or so, and they need to be licensed and regulated. Don't forget India is the world's largest exporter of Beef(Carabeef-Bufallo Meat), and generates a lot of revenue for the government. If it is not regulated and monitored, India can end up blacklisted and many more people will be out of jobs that way!

Besides drug dealing also puts food in people's mouth, so does smuggling, so should we just let these "businesses" grow as well? I understand the need for people to feed their families and eke a livelihood, but it has to be legal.

I don't know about @Nilgiri but I still have my voting rights. Although, I will surrender my Indian passport the day someone as dumb and incompetent as a Rahul Gandhi or god forbid Mamta Banerjee were to become the PM of India.

There are scores of Hindus working across Middle east. Some of these countries don't even allow pics of Hindu gods inside the country. You never see any Hindu creating a ruckus there.

you won't ever see any Hindu raising heckles in any western country about cow meat.

Also, how come it is taking food out of mouth of millions of poor Indians? I would love to see your source of information on this point showcasing, millons of poor Indians are eating beef and only beef. They have no other form of protein to eat. They are dying because they are not getting beef.

It's not happening now.
The law was never strictly followed to appease certain sections.

In all western countries, Chicken is the cheapest meat, Then goat/lamb, Pork and Beef is the costliest among these 4.

For peaceful living, everyone has to give up something and adjust to be in harmonious co-existence.

If Hindus and other local communities are tolerating and treating you like our own, we expect some tolerance from Muslims as well.

Constitutionally it is not allowed in India since independence except for the seven sister states in NE, who by the way consume gaur, yak and water buffalo meat more.

Yes. No cow slaughter allowed in UP.
Because of this law, there is rampant theft of cows & calf across UP, which leads of fights, which then escalate into full fledged wars between groups.

The law of UP is very clear on Cow meat.

I have suggested a roadmap alternative solution on another thread. It will cost money. But will solve the issue, maintain social harmony, and just may save this government for another term.

Think about that when you vote next.

These people can continue to eat carabeef aka buffalo meat, which is just as proteinaceous as cow meat if not more, and is the leaner meat of the two, less fat, and is therefore the healthier alternative. This carabeef, as long as it comes from a licensed slaughter house, is perfectly fine and no one will have any issue with it, neither the Hindus nor the government.
The famous Tunday Kebabs of Lucknow have been using this buffalo meat for the past 100 years and people love them.

And I agree, all Indians have to live and die in the same country, Hindus and Muslims, so its better if people get along and respect each other's sensitivities.

Imagine if Hindus insist on not wanting to put up with azaan blaring on megaphones 5 times a day 365 days a year, imagine if Hindus insist on driving on the roads that are blocked for spillover jumma namaz, imagine if Hindus insist of running a pork shop or an alcohol shop next to the Mosque or in a Muslim neighbourhood.

Hindus have been respecting Muslim beliefs and sensitivities for very long, its time Muslims returned the favour too by not slaughtering cows in the street. Its not that hard, its not like its a religious obligation or duty of Muslims to eat cow meat.
