LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has cut short his London visit for personally monitoring relief activities in flood-hit south Punjab districts.

Mr Sharif is in London for his medical check-up.

However, in view of the flooding of south Punjab districts he has decided to immediately return home, a Punjab government official says.

In his instructions to the cabinet committee on flood, the chief minister called for accelerating relief activities in the affected areas.

He directed the committee to visit the flood-hit villages to monitor relief activities while the concerned administration and institutions of the affected districts should perform their duties in an efficient manner. He said he was supervising the process of provision of relief.

He said food and other requirements of the affected people should be fulfilled. He said fodder should also be arranged for the cattle of the flood-tossed people.

All good and well, but let me just ask, puray mulk main hamaray badshah hukumranon kay liay koi aisa hospital nhn jis main yeh ja sakain?

Anybody know what exactly is the nature of his medical problem and what check ups he needs?

A person who is responsible for these hospitals is the one who is not confident in their abilities?

Why our politicians goes in foreign countries for medical checkup... We have good doctors here too.
Be a proud Pakistani! Hasan nawaz and hussain nawaz should come in Pakistan. Invest here instead of foreign countries. We also need big investments here, create jobs here and reduce poverty .

A number of people asked a very valid question that Why do I visit London for my medical checkup ...

Dear Friends, I never wanted to tell my story to anyone ... but I think you all deserve to know the facts ... During Musharraf era, when I was sent in exile ... I was diagnosed with backbone cancer and at that time I was in London ... so naturally treatment got started there ... In continuation of it, I still have to visit my oncologist couple of times a year ... It is recommended that one should stick with same oncologist who has been with you since start and understands your complete case ...

Friends, Let me assure you that I, Alhumdulillah, pay for all my expenses of travelling, boarding, treatment and medication myself ... and not a single penny is ever taken from Punjab govt for this purpose ... May Allah bless you all with good health and long life ... Ameen!!! ... SS

I am not PMLN supporter or PTI but im not blind as well
When you are blind and do not want to open up your eye, then thats what happened ..

Oncologist - do you have any idea what they do ???? if you have any brain left in your head you might like to know that ppl even if want are not advised to change Oncologist due to nature of the treatment involved.

People and doctors are mostly like to do and conduct long term treatment/checkups in summer time because of long day light.. (Do not take from it that nothing is done in winters time).

I am not going to reply to any of your comments .. so keep your thoughts to yourself :)

TBH, I am not aware of any medical facilities that are present in any Western nation but not in Pakistan. If you have money, well you can get the world's finest treatment in any big city (specially speaking for Karachi) of this country. Expensive of course, unavailable not a chance.

I was diagnosed with backbone cancer
Did the doctor have to tell him in desi language which he translated or something coz Nobody diagnosed with it calls it that

Do you know what 2nd opinion/ consultations mean?

And why summer? Running away from the load shedding (not that Raiwand has any problems of that sort) he cant solve or the heavy heat which his subjects are forced to live in?

Mian Shahbaz Shareef Official Page on facebook
