CHINESE VIEW: Chinese and Indian Fighter Jets Face Off Amid Regional Turf War

It's true that India has attempted more things and unlike your logic Ihas gained a lot too. LCA Radar was the first radar project we took up and now we have an AWACS based on tech built for that. AMCA will be built on the LCA base. The KMGT and lots of propulsion systems came out of Kaveri program. Net it's a positive revenue generator in several ways. Your limitations are ultimately your failures. You buy AWACS from Saab and other Radars from abroad, your ships will have engines from abroad and your actively inducted weapons are never really best in class. JF 17 is not best in class. You call a design that began with the idea of improving a Mig 21 as a 'medium class fighter'. Yet in the same class you're still scouting for a F 16. But in India the role assigned to LCA- light fighter- it is the only fighter the IAF wants to fill the entire class in the future.

You do not have projects of that scale man. It's like a small IT company saying Microsoft Vista sucks.

hmm, you are right, such huge scale that the world stands still glaring your companies screwing things up and making big money but the end result is nowhere to be seen, agreed.

no, it is the difference of approach about oneself, you guys think you can do it all by yourself while we admit our limitations and work to ratify our shortcomings through TOT and license manufacturing. the result is for the world to see as our equipment is inducted generally, not always, into active service.

India was doing this "ToT, license manufacturing" since MIG 21s to MKIs. To vickers to T90s. JVs are done in Brahmos and LR SAMs in the destoryers, frigates, etc. India is making as well. Congrats, there's nothing special here.

It is something you have do by yourself to build up your industry and you human resource within the country. ISRO's early programs were blowing out of the sky left and right at one point, they now have tested their own cryogenic engines successfully several times now. Launching their heavier SLVs. Why dont I see you in any ISRO related threads, probably because they're launching successfully, right?

PSLVC31 lifts off with India's 5th navigation satellite IRNSS 1E, sucessfully put in orbit | Page 2

They just launched the 5th satellite a part of a navigation system recently - This was built on complete failures, teething issues, delays, what have you.

DRDO's Prithvis and early Agni series were also falling out of the sky. Now they've tested Agni 5s several times, even canister launched it, and inducted it in record time. No need to mention SLBM tests.

It's easy to say stop doing, take ToT, whatever, it's not a long term solution.

what about their repeated failures? who would you compare it with? should i start doing it by myself?
The only country you can't compare with is Pakistan.
A country with no failure,no missile ever deviated from path ,anything made by ordinance factory are of alien tech .period..

Now you can start comparing with LM,boeing even Chinese got fair amount of failures....

frustrated post, 2/3rd of your IAF has these so called cheap mechanical steered radars, any say about that? isnt your ADA also making a cheap mechanical MMR for your LCA as well? and your mig 29s have the same engine, any say on that or are willing to replace those obsolete ones as well?

2/3 of our air force is outdated, and hasn't been modernized because of, guess what, lack of funds allocated in the Union budgets. But here we are comparing Tejas and JF-17, so don't know why that argument came up.

And yes ADA developed MMR radar, similar to that which you use and your PAF is proud of, which our IAF rejected, hence DRDO is developing an AESA. But that will take time as only ground testing has been done till now. So Tejas will have the Israeli AESA radar, one of the best in the world.

Regarding Mig 29, I wouldn't argue with someone who doesn't understands the difference between a single engined and twin engined jets.

Lollz. Do you even know what 'results' mean? With close to 200 jets ordered between army and navy, LCA is one of the most successful projects of this class in the world. And other 'results' include byproducts like the following

Add KMGT, composite fabricated parts for ISRO etc.

We have J-10, J-11, J-15, J-16, JH-8, and the new J-20 and J31. What's your excuse.

The major problem with India. It's content competing with countries 10x smaller than it in terms of demographics and economics and yet has delusions of being some sort a super power.

China and India are roughly equal in terms of size and demographics, and yet there's no competition between the two. India lags China in almost every index conceivable. Yet, Indian posters mimic their Bollywood news anchors and gloat over pointless pieces of junk like LCA, even the Indian Air Force has refused to induct despite near 4 decades of development.

this part just LOLed me

It also left your country poorer by several million $$$$ when you bought the Saab Systems and so on. I was lolling on that....ha ha ha ha ha......

good for you,did you know the PAC recovered two of them? now be sad.

China is way ahead of us in almost every field, no denying this fact. And if you follow Indian business news you will know how we admire them in certain respects and try to catch them in those fields. The problem is when some cheerleaders think of equating themselves with India, they have to be shown their rightful place.

Lets be fair.

China have benefited immensely from massive American investment in recent years. An internally stable country will grow leaps and bounds with foreign investment worth trillions of USD.

However, credit where due; Chinese tend to be hard-working.
