Chinese Urban Workers' Pay Soared 11% to USD12,000 Last Year

That's weird. Generally the private sector is more efficient than the public sector and I believe that should be true in China as well. The private sector is exposed to more competition, less bureaucracy, less red-tape than the public sector, but of course it has lesser 'connections' and 'access to contracts' if you know what I mean. Still, the discrepancy shouldn't be twice as large.

At the end of the day, it's taxpayers working in the private sector who are paying the public sector.
No, the big tax payers in China are state-owned enterprises. China's private enterprises evade taxes.

Two main reasons, 1.) the private sector contains a lot of low end jobs. 2.) the data of salaries in private sectors are difficult to collect, for example, some construction workers are paid day by day. No one knows how much they earn per month or per year on average.
True, so many restaurants, barber shops or small vendors, it's dog eat dog and very often they cut the profit to nothing just to stay alive, government companies don't have to worry about having customers but private businesses do, it's life and death everyday.

I don't mean corporate taxes. I know that profitable SOEs pay a larger share of profits to the state (while unprofitable ones get subsidies).

I mean the overall revenue of the country which includes income tax, land revenue, property tax, car tax etc. Because the private sector generates a larger proportion of wealth (GDP), they are contributing more to the tax revenue.

It's not directly related to how much they pay.:P

Yeah.then u shoulf post:"Cnese urban workers salary from $4000- 8000/month like CN investors pay VN engineers" instead of this silly 12,000/year .

You know, you are actually embarrassing yourself like a frog in the well if you keep repeating $4000-$8000.

It's high but not that high. Even Singapore’s average household income is higher than that, what's more if you want to hire top engineers.

In the first place there's nothing to brag about. Even if it's $1 million per year it doesn't mean anything. It's like me bragging how much the top CEOs in my country make but what relevance does it have for me lmao.

Still.too low to compare wt the salary from $4000-8000/month that CN investor, fleeing to VN, pay for VN engineers:cool:

Why rich Cnese treat poor Cnese so bad ??They r every rich, they can pay from. 4000-8000/month .

-----
Its CN investors cos they want VN staff who get pay 4000-8000 can speak Cnese.

--------

I don’t think Chinese companies pay that much unless they are too desperate. CN companies are welknown low paying but demand long working hours, treating employees like slaves. Viet companies as Viettel, FPT software pay $1,000 per month. I think they offer $1,500 or something.

Lots of private jobs pay that much, or more.

As for public companies, majority of China public sector is profitable. Even the energy sector behaves more like market players under market conditions even though they are state-owned for national security reasons.

Sing is just a red dot , Sing is just a cheap zoo, Sing even smaller than our toilets. Stop screaming, oki?

True, they r desperate due to 25% tariff now, they r losing lots of money in CN and want to make money fast in VN, so they pay high salary to get the best VN engineers and managers who can help them quickly make money for their bussiness.

And yet the red dot smaller than your toilet has a larger economy than your country. What does that say?

The fact that you're boasting because the Chinese paid $4K-$8K wage to some Vietnamese engineers is embarrassing to see.

...completely avoided if you buy from a non-Tariffed Country, or you buy the product inside the USA (the best idea). That’s Zero Tariffs. Many Tariffed companies will be leaving China for Vietnam and other such countries in Asia. That’s why China wants to make a deal so badly!...

Yes, that is weird and not good.
The 2:1 wage got gap is too wide.
Even SOE pays more tax than private sector to the government, doesn't smell good.
中国烟草 pays hug tax to government, but think what real good does it do to the development of the country?
中国一汽 too, what innovation or good products does it provide to us?
...
They enjoy low to free land, capital, connection... but not necessary do good to the upgrade of the economy / society. Given same resource, private may do a better job. Some non-security fields need to open up.

You're just talking about the bad side.

But High-speed railway is also built by state-owned enterprises. Is it inefficient for state-owned enterprises to build high-speed rail?

I think it’s true in parts, in sections of business but not all. Not necessarily bad: Vietnam with lower labor costs offers big advantage.

Yes, interesting tweets of Donald Trump. I am very surprised by his openness: he expects business will leave China and advertises Vietnam as tariffs free location that all businesses can go to to avoid tariffs.

:-)

Of course not all the SOEs should go to privatization. Some strategic sections should never do.

But you say that I just single out some "bad looking" SOE as sample, is really picking.
Need more examples? Too many.
Do you ever receive good products/price competitive/outstanding service from 中国邮政, 中国电信, 中国移动,all the 中国xx banks, 中石化, 中石气, 中建筑....?
Would you prefer their private competitors (if have choice)? -

In fact, if you look at ROI of SOEs vs PCs, you will see many SOEs are wasting our money, many years in deficit. Don't look at 三桶油, they are already a joke. ..
There are many SOEs on provincial level are similiar, why these "companies" still exist, is too bitter to explain.

Finally who pay? You and me.
When I pay 15-20% tax every month, I have reason to feel bitter.
