Chinese spies steal secrets from Dutch chip maker ASML: FD

until 2 decades ago, you were eating insects, dogs. You are the last to look at people from above.. a billion population just got their independence, the feeling must be hitting you hard these days..
Oh no, don't add strange topics, calm down. I know Turkey is in financial difficulties and needs some financial support from China. But making jokes is wrong.

Im glad the only secret on my laptop is the hidden folder entitled 'p0rn',
Probably would break the China spy's NSFW firewall settings.

On a serious note, I bumped into Chinese engineers in West Africa while they were building something and they seemed very interested in our work to the extent they insisted on brochures and business cards.

Chinese culture is such they don't respect western IP.
I'm not saying that you.

It's just that Western governments are dirty. They are used to lying publicly.
Most of them can not believe(think of Trump's 3,000 lies).

Chinese engineers are very very smart people. Highly intelligent and produce great quality products in half the time that most people do. Credit due to them. But remember people have livelihoods and kids to feed and IP is considered property. Corporate espionage is a real issue and costs lots of money and can strategically ruin business. You can take any high tech product to China, literally anything, and get it duplicated in next to no time.

NOT CHINA, BUT SAMSUNG BEHIND ESPIONAGE AT ASML, CEO SUGGESTS

It wasn't the Chinese government, but South Korean tech company Samsung that was behind corporate espionage at Dutch chip machine maker ASML, CEO of the Dutch company Peter Wennink suggested in an interview with broadcaster NOS.

After it became clear that someone was stealing trade secrets from ASML in the United states, ASML hired a company to find out who was behind it. The stolen software ended up with ASML's competitor Xtal, which was financed by both China and Korea. No evidence was found that the Chinese government was involved, Wennink said.

"There is no hundred percent certainty. We have not found any evidence of any connection with the Chinese government. What we have found evidence for is that the products were stolen by people of American and Chinese nationality, with a Chinese background, and that those products were used to provide services to our largest Korean customer", Wennink said.

According to NOS, he is very likely referring to Samsung. The company "enthused" the spies to steal software from ASML and start their own business, thereby creating a competitor for ASML. The stolen software is needed to set up chip machines for optimum production of electronic chips. In 2016, Samsung became a 30 percent shareholder in Xtal, and ASML subsequently lost Samsung as a customer for this software.

Samsung Nederland was not available to comment to NOS on Tuesday night.
And suddenly no one cares anymore

To the mentally-challenged Turks (and others) who think that bringing up China's past of suffering invasion and poverty is somehow hurtful. All it shows is that no matter how far and hard China falls, it will inevitably pick itself up and climb all the way back up to the top. Nothing can keep China down.

What happened to those who "conquered" China, like the Mongols? Well, most of Mongolia is now China, and most Mongolians are Chinese. All that's left is a little, sparsely-populated economic colony of China called "Mongolia" today. China is like quicksand: the invader puts one foot in, and no matter how hard they struggle they get pulled down to their doom.
And suddenly no one cares anymore
Too bad, I had hoped China got its hands on the EUV lithography machine secrets.:(

Chinese character is relatively low-key.

For instance. China exports a 12.12m diameter TBM to Bangladesh. Some Bangladeshi members said, "I saw some news. This is the world's largest TBM". I said it wasn't.

We Chinese discuss things. There must be enough evidence. This is our character... We don't like to say these words. As is the best, the biggest, the most beautiful......... These words make us feel arrogant. We have a clumsy mouth. So it's hard for you to see the Chinese blaming others.
