Close cooperation with Japan is key. They need to have good capable offensive army and close cooperation with strategic neighbors. Sooner or later when Chinese economy busts, we need to be ready to protect minorities. They get more wicked with the day.

MALAYSIA differed with fellow Southeast Asian claimants in the South China Sea on the threat posed by China, dismissing concerns about patrols off its coast.

Malaysia is not worried about how often Chinese ships patrol the areas it claims in the waters, Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said in an interview in Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday.

Chinese Navy ships in March visited James Shoal off Malaysia, near where Royal Dutch Shell Plc. and Petroliam Nasional Bhd. have oil-and-gas operations.

“Just because you have enemies, doesn’t mean your enemies are my enemies,” Hishammuddin said on the sidelines of meetings with counterparts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) as well as the US, China and Japan.

The Chinese “can patrol every day, but if their intention is not to go to war” it is of less concern, he said. “I think we have enough level of trust that we will not be moved by day-to-day politics or emotions.”

Malaysia is one of six claimants to land features in the South China Sea, an area where competition for gas and fish has led to boats being rammed and survey cables cut. The Philippines and Vietnam reject China’s map of the sea, first published in the 1940s, as a basis for joint exploration.

Mahathir: China has done very well to grow its economy and is among the leading countries in the world. This makes the United States feel threatened.

When China becomes rich and it is threatened by the United States wanting to have all other countries confront China, that, of course, makes China defend itself and led to its strengthened defense.

This will go on as long as China is threatened by the United States. But, I think this is the wrong strategy.

Hello false flagger. Regarding the 1966 riots, see my post here. Most of the 600,000 "Communists" who got killed were Indonesian Muslims.

Regarding your dumb comment talking about the Malaysian Chinese population, in fact, Mahatir Mohamad, and Hishamuddin Hussein and the UMNO party ruling Malaysia DO NOT associate their foreign policy with China with local Malaysian Chinese (who are citizens of Malaysia).

In fact, Hishamuddin Hussein, Mahatir, and the UMNO are considered by local Malaysian Chinese to be anti-(Malaysian Chinese), they constantly attack the Malaysian Chinese for not voting for the UMNO and support Malay supremacy in the Bumiputera system, yet they are the biggest supporters of close ties, trade, and cooperation with China and don't view it as a threat at all.
