Congress passes hundreds of bills each year. This one gets no press. Nobody cares. That you begrudge welfare payments tells me you don't make a heck of a lot in the US.

I would not know the ground situation as you people would know, but the media reports that one peruses does show that in the West, and in the US and UK in particular, this welfare and its circumventing through loopholes, seems to have caught the attention of the people in Parliament or Senate.

Ask any American here and they will tell you that Paul Ryan budget is the showdown of the year , with debt ceiling being held as hostage. well every " real" and " remotely politically aware" American. and especially if you are supposedly in the " finance" field" you know the repercussion to not raising the debt ceiling. You would know Paul Ryan the leading congressional politician being the head of the budgetary committee.

What the US tax payers should be more concerned about is the increasingly high defense spending of their armed forces rather than about some welfare and old Chinese folks.

More American tax money goes to Israel as free Aid and to fund the wars in the middle east/increased defense spending.

If they are not, then they will mortgage their souls to China!!

they already did when they borrowed more than $1 trillion to spend on 2 useless wars, no turning back now.
