Well, China could think about war but it will cost dearly to both countries.
China on one hand is more powerful, a war will create a scenario where all neighbors will start to form alliance since China have disputes will few more of them. Now considering China do not care about this, this will also give a chance to US including EU (EU now a days do not follow US blindly but a million people fighting and killing each other is something serious) to impose "sanctions" on China, slowing its economic growth and government cannot afford that at any cost.
So my guess is in case of full scale war, India would be more beneficial compared to China, since you really can't compensate small part of land with the global trade by China.
The Chinese President is talking about peace and cooperation, not war.
