So I am thinking of learning an East Asian language. What language should I learn. Mandarin, Japanese or Korean? Which one would be easier guys? Also say if I learn mandarin how hard would it be learn basic Korean/Japanese after that? Is there much similarity amongst these languages at all?

Am hoping some Chinese forumers can help me out here. I do interact with a lot of Chinese and Japanese clients. So knowing the language will help.

I would say Japanese cause I like Japanese girls. lol

But otherwise, most people say learn Mandarin, they are the next economic super house.

japanese is easier to learn since its a phonetic language. traditional mandarin (used in taiwan) will be a bit harder, you can also go for simplified mandarin (used in mainland).
If it is for business purpose, I'd suggest learning mandarin. If it is for fun, stay with japanese.

its not about being easy

its about how much you will use that language.

there are 1 billion chinese people with a huge diaspora and compared to 150 million japanese with medium diaspora..

now which do you think you may need more in future...
