Chinese forces show off power as Hong Kong gears up for protests

As for those who are perceiving it, they need to engage with us,...
Abuses by forum staff members are well known. When I participated at sinusdefence, I was charged by a Chinese forum staff member of 'abusing' other members. The funny part is that I had less than 90 posts over several yrs, so the guy could not present a pattern of behaviors. He did not like how I challenged -- on technical issues -- his fellow Chinese, so he suspended my account. With less than 90 posts over YEARS, surely evidences would be obvious.

You can take your complaints to GHQ...We encourage complains...that way we can learn and know more about our members....how they act and behave with others! We cant tag and chase each so we expect other members to help us through complains! Open a thread in GHQ if you feel you have been wronged...the mod / staff who wronged you can only present their points but is will never be part of the final say! Other senior mods or Admin has the final say!

Indian kings ran to Thailand and from there to Indonesia (Srivijaya and majapahit history still exists) :D
What I understand is that there were Hindu influence from India so there were Hindu kingdoms in South East Asia. Maybe cases of raids by Indian ships along Sumatra and leaving with their loots. But have never heard of them invading South East Asia.

You have sources that Indian Kings ran to SEA? Bare in mind that Indian history is hardly recorded.

I never said they invaded! They traded with ASEAN region....

What I did say was kings ran away...Kings usually run away when they have been dethroned or their empire declines and they are next in line or were ruling...

Yes there are accounts of indian kings running to Thailand / Cambodia area...

Well there really isnt any proper source ...but it is a common folk tale...Like Funan in Thailand - Laos was from an indian prince ....and descendants of the falling Champa ran left and right and prob to Srivijaya....its assumptions at best...I am trying to trace if I find any substantial info but it is hearsay at best

They had trading with China nad india....tributes were also paid to China....but the origins are still vague!

Yeah...The Chinese member of the admin staff left because his bias got busted for all to see. Overall, you guys are better than the Iranians or the Russians or the doofuses over at sinusdefence, but no thanks...

The issue is not about privileges. It is about impressions, especially when the forum is international in scope.

When an admin staff member participate in a discussion, no matter how innocent it maybe, there lies a silent potential threat perceived by some participants that if they expresses opinions that runs contrary to popular sentiment, they may lose forum privileges. The consequences -- unknown to all - is that the forum loses insights that may have never seen before.

I don't think that should ever be the case, and even if it is, it's the forums loss. I've been on enough internet forums in my life to know the good ones and the bad ones. PDF isn't the best controlled one, but generally i think the mods can both express their opinion and remain impartial - though of course there is scope for it to go the other way, always is, it's human nature.

Let's not derail this any further I sure did not reply to a member on the grounds of derailment. I was forced to act accordingly to circumstances. If you wish to talk to me further about this then you can mention me in the members club

I trust your judgement brother and your right to say what you believe.

We Pakistanis should speak openly and freely on this forum, as it is one of the few places on the internet where we can do so.

My opinion that is the current HK adminiration will be paralyzed for a while, some of the important projects have been stopped. Our Legislative Building have been badly damaged, so budget bill will be delayed for 4 to 10 months.

The gov't already tried that on 7/1, but some protestors just came there to cause troubles, like cursing and blocked the entrance. You guys have no idea how some of those protestors like, they act like mobsters where they curse anyone with different opinions, corner you with their numbers to stop you from leaving. If they think you are taking picture of them, they force you to open the cellphone and delete your pictures. Some even push you.

For people who understand Chinese, there has a video about a student reveal how our biased teacher brainwash our youth with misleaded information or one sided information.

Brother is this a new phenomenon where protestors corner you if they believe you are taking a picture of them. They talk about democracy and infringement of freedom of speech yet they act like a bunch of mobsters. You can't reason with these people, the full force of the law must be smacked on their face. I hate mob mentality, it leads to chaos.

I'm awake and can't sleep these day, so let me post a video for you to see the real fact not the mainstream news version. The video had combined two videos happened on July 1st, and the host actually talks about her thought about these two videos in Cantonese. The first video show how a westerner feel about those rioters, and the second video show a chinese tourist got beat up because those protestors thought he was talking picture of them. You can skip it after those two videos.
Let me vent more, I don't know how many of you know that on july 1st the rioters did not only use bricks, umbrella and metal pipes, but also acidic liquids and poisonous powders to attack police. They were really out of control.

How A.I. Helped Improve Crowd Counting in Hong Kong Protests - The New York Times
Crowd estimates for Hong Kong’s large pro-democracy protests have been a point of contention for years. The organizers and the police often release vastly divergent estimates. This year’s annual pro-democracy protest on Monday, July 1, was no different. Organizers announced 550,000 people attended; the police said 190,000 people were there at the peak.

But for the first time in the march’s history, a group of researchers combined artificial intelligence and manual counting techniques to estimate the size of the crowd, concluding that 265,000 people marched.

By that logic China can claim the entire pacific ocean as nobody claims it as theirs. There is law of seas and Ocean which allow EEZ for every country. China is in violation of it by claiming entire South China sea because their ancestors were fishing in those parts. Watta logic.
The law of the sea are made by strong countries. Do you believe weak countries can introduce international laws in UN?

Law of Seas are accepted by strong and weak countries the same. And irrespective of it's strong country, US respects EEZ of Canada, Mexico, Caribbean countries. Almost all the countries respect it except China. Which is now acting as a bully of small countries.
