Chinese defence minister seeks to boost ties with Bangladesh

The MBT-2000 wasn't up to standard from what I heard. There are plans to induct a new tank and induction of more tank regiments. Type of tank and country supplying them is unknown.

I'd rather go with my Leopard.

Not as shitty as the E-100...
I remember a lot of people crying about why they didn't buy more MBTs and get the TOT back then...seems like they made a smart move..considering our terrain we should go for lighter(T-90) tanks with deep wading capabilities(khal bil onk).

lots of WOT players here...lol!

A long time ago, they did look into the T-90 (unknown variant), among other participants like the T-84 (Ukrainian), the Al-Khaled and the MBT-2000. Looks like it was due to the favorable financing from China that got them to the MBT-2000.

What next? MBT-3000?

It doesn't matter which tank they pick. What matters is that the equipment matches their doctrine. We can't say much further than that.

I used to play WoT. Took too much time and money. A lot of money just to get a full experience of the game. Them Russians have deep pockets! Their customer service are rude as well.

I had a far, far better experience with World of Warcraft to be honest.

I just don't have time now, and one of the unfortunate things that happen after getting on-board a career job :(

With that shitty gun...cringe...horrible accuracy...horrible aim time..and horrible penn..:tsk:
Somebody plays! :) well yeah the gun is shit tbh but I installed a rammer and stabilizer and air conditioning unit to decrease load and aim time. Armor though! You like e100 gun? I heard it's as bad as is7. How is it?

Upto standards? Lol Bangladeshis need to seriously dish in some cash to get their "upto standards" tank. They had struggles to finance those 44 and they are talking about standards. Lmao.
Leopard is a nice tank. But a new one is in development. It's a bad time to buy tanks tbh... You get it now... New one comes out. You upgrade this or it is obsolete. Tank tech can't keep up more than a decade tbh.

I wanted to try out e100! How is that tank? Any good? The armor is all 90° so I know that's shit. Gun?

Tanks are offensive weapon. Military may think of pushing out of border to a harder enemy soil, no doubt. So, it is a heavy tank they have chosen.

Why do people confuse modern MIT with terrain clearance problem that heavy tanks had. It's the horsepower they are lacking. Bangladesh to the lower horsepower engines. Obviously they will face problems with maneuverability.
Yeah. Like 3 of us plays wot till now, XD

Weight isn't the problem with that tank. The power plant is.

I honestly don't know how they performed appraisals of the tenders

Those are one of the reasons I don't play anymore. Money-making machine!

You have to be really good at side-scrapping with that thing.

It has bad handling, and the worst P/W ratio of all heavies. It's not a lone-wolf type tank. It requires teamwork in order to play successfully.

You have to use premium rounds on its top gun though.

Like I said before, if you are willing to spend money, you can do anything with any tank :enjoy2:[/QUOTE]

MBT-2000 tanks are fitted with diesel 1200 hp engines. Is it small comparing to its weight? Only 26 hp for a ton seems to be small if compared to motor vehicle engines. But, I have little knowledge about tank engine power. Would someone care to explain it to us?

I heard at the Bangladeshi variants are fitted with 800 hp engines. 26-27 horsepower per ton is ideal for any modern combat vehicle and shouldn't have any issues with handling characteristics. All medium tanks during cold war were having numbers around that. Seeing that in a modern battle tank should be impressive without sacrificing on armor. However I heard Bangladesh's tank come fitted with 800hp. Which might be the problem. Or it might be just financial problems that they didn't order more and the talk about it not liked by our army might be a hoax.

Yeah. And I bet because of bargaining extremities that Bangladesh is go to... No weapons manufacturers are interested in Bangladesh's purchase. Just look at how interested Boeing was trying to sell f18. I bet you'll never see that much enthusiasm in bangladesh's plan. Even from sukhoi.

Looks like is7 was a good choice after all.

Boeing never offered Bangladesh anything. They were just going for a joy ride, that's all. The Americans will never sell any combat fighter aircraft to Bangladesh. Particularly under this administration, period.

Yes, they are fast!

Indian Pt-76 had around 16-17 hp/ton....they couldn't operate properly in Bangladeshi terrain....mbt2000 has 26hp/ton...it should operate fine in BD....we still don't why the Army complained....the only tank within our acquirable range that has similar mobility is the T90(if we stick a 1200 hp engine into it).

.
i read somewhere BD terrain is not suitable for heavy tanks its right ?

. .
Most of the BD terrain are not suitable for any tanks!
then why invest on tanks and why these guys on PDF asking more tanks in posts above ? what is better lethel weapon for ground forces ? APCs or AFVs ?

I know...AFVs with anti tank weapons to deal with invading tanks would be an awesome idea...but the Army wants what they want...probably they want tanks for urban warfare!
