When USA points a finger at China, she has four fingers pointing towards herself that she doesn't see.

US is not stupid, they are the biggest buyer of Chinese products,no matter how loud they try to drum up anti China noise.the fact is still they hit record buying Chinese products every single month.ok,here is the point, they dont have to buy things only from China, they are not China lovers, not at all.but why for decades they buy and buy. cause that's the best deal they can find around the world, balance the price ,cost and quality.Chinese products are the best deal in the world,at least till now, they still can not find reliable substitute for Chinese products.no one in this world forced them buy Chinese products, but they are the biggest buyer, they used their action to show to the world that they still believed that made in China is the best deal they can find anywhere on this planet.remember ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

The quality of chinese stuff is well known and its open fact that china make and fake everything of earth. So far they have targeted economies of the countries.

But to target nations military with fakes is a new one.

US should take strong action and reduce chinese supplies not only for military but for civilian use too.

India should also do a probe and check everything containing chinese stuff in our military supplies.

Funny how something spotted by Businessweek in 2008 is still coming around. This article does not define all the facts and seems to have been written to blame China (no surprise) but luckily Business week conducted a very thorough research a few years back which places the blame squarely at the DOD procurement policy of buying from unverified suppliers and not the original manufacturers.

Parts of the article

"Name-brand manufacturers and well-established distributors, some of which acquire the rights to make obsolete chips, say they mark up prices 10% to 30%. Smaller brokers settle for far less generous margins. The number of small brokers increased sharply after 1994, when Congress stopped requiring government contractors to certify that they were either original manufacturers or authorized distributors. The brokers have to obtain a contractor code but receive little or no oversight. Hundreds are now operating, some out of suburban basements and second bedrooms. A BusinessWeek analysis of a contracting database identified at least 24 active brokers that list residential homes as their place of business. Several have won chip contracts for "critical applications," which the Pentagon defines as "essential to weapon system performance...or the operating personnel." In many cases these entrepreneurs comb Web sites such as brokerforum.net and netcomponents.com, which connect them with traders in Shenzhen and Guiyu. The brokers sell either directly to Pentagon depots or via suppliers to defense contractors such as BAE."

"Mariya Hakimuddin owns IT Enterprise, a company she runs with her mother out of a modest one-story house in Bakersfield, Calif. Rosebushes line the street, and a basketball hoop hangs in the driveway. Hakimuddin, who is in her 40s, says she has no college education. She began brokering military chips four years ago, after friends told her about the expanding trade. Since 2004 she has won Pentagon contracts worth a total of $2.7 million, records show. The military has acquired microchips and other parts from IT Enterprise for use in radar on the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and the antisubmarine combat system of Spruance-class destroyers.

Hakimuddin says she knows little about the parts she has bought and sold. She started her business by signing up on the Internet for a government supplier code. After the Defense Dept. approved her application, with no inspection, she began scanning online military procurement requests. She plugged part codes into Google (GOOG) and found Web sites offering low prices. Then she ordered parts and had them shipped directly to military depots. "I wouldn't know what [the parts] were before I'd order them," she says, standing near her front door. "I didn't even know what the parts were for.""

Dangerous Fakes - BusinessWeek

Figures you will run straight into bashing mode without verifying some facts. I suggest you read the whole article properly before you comment.

I see what's going on.

USA loves Chinese products and wants to have all the products for herself so she makes up negative News on Chinese products to prevent other countries from buying Chinese products and then she scoops up all the Chinese products for herself.
USA you are so greedy. You should share the Chinese products with others !!!

Even those politicians all conveniently get on the China bashing bandwagon for their election compaigns, but deep in side all of them know that it has been China that helping keep the US economy float, without China's huge cash injection into the moribund US economy during the years,US economy would've crashed long time ago.they really should bite the hand that feeds.
