Who said there is freedom in prison? The point is American society is far freer than China. Freedom is the foundation of American pride and prestige. Yeah I agree putting that many people in prison is not good, that is a political decision.

Think about this.
With so many people (assuming they are all criminals) in jail, shouldn't US be the safest country on earth ?

What does this say about how good or bad US governance is ?

Yes there are political restrictions in China. China do have a DIFFERENT political system.

calm down. Whether we like it or not , modern society is based on everything western.
Chinese cities are carbon copies of western infrastructure. Everything i was shown in modern china was of western origin.
All innovation has come from the west and some from Japan.
China has copied well and for that it gets credit. But you have zero innovation(apologies to tik tok ).
Even this guy has honed his knowledge for 50 years in the west and now wants to contribute to china.

What city in the West or Japan did China carbon copy ? Which city in the West does Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen look alike ? Aren't all modern infrastructure, buildings and cities in the world look quite similar these days ? Humans have progressed and their technologies have become interwoven pretty much these days. Which technologies of building cities does China copied from the West or are giving free to China ? You think cities like the slums in your country India are indeed then original for Asians, right ? You Indians are known lackeys to the white men and Japanese too and if you Indians want to kiss off, there is no surprise and only consistency on your part.

Aren't they simply based on the standard Western design of steel/cement/glass multi-storied elevatored climate-controlled buildings supported by an infrastructure of water/electricity/sewer/fuel/telecommunications and dedicated roads for cars with signal lights and dedicated pedestrian sidewalks with overpass bridges and crosswalks. Public transportation systems like buses/trolleys and underground subway systems with rail lines/airports to connect the cities together.

This is just an example of Western soft power dramatically influencing the direction the world takes.

Was much of this common across China 100 years ago? It was in the West. My city had these 100 years ago. Although the airport didn't open until 1923. So I'm short by a year on that fact.

Alot of these things we take for granted as standard today in cities of the world were actually ironed out long ago through trial and error in the West. They just didn't appear out of nowhere and simply work.

Even like compromising on the proper height of sidewalks and the max slant slope of the street to the curb to shed water so people can both safely step up on to them yet not severely impacting the clearance of the bottom of a fully opening car door so it doesn't strike the sidewalk has been thought out. Just tons of little details like this through trial and error.

Why India doesn't have any original innovation then? Isn't India an open society? Original innovations or breakthroughs are often developed in US because it is the richest and most powerful country. 1) US has money so it can absorb talents from other countries and invest huge money in science. 2) Rich people and top industries have demand for new technologies. Which creates motivation for innovation.

More importantly, he was too old, could not rape Chinese female students like many other foreign teachers.
