fyi, for the most part the great wall didnt fail, it succeed in keeping the raid mostly to the edges of the empire. what did eventually fail was the human element, the rot from within and pressure from without.

the green great wall though is a fascinating project, thousands of km long, spanning decades and projected to be continuously worked on for hundreds of years. while it its effectiveness is so far uneven, it is showing progress.

Great Wall is a shame and symbol of cowardice. It has not stop nomads.

It is a symbol of rotten culture who cannot stop giving excuses that "enemy are too strong and geographical circumstances too impossible for manoeuvre ". Nothing is further from truth, the nomads are never too strong and terrain never too difficult. The reason is Han Chinese empire are too rotten.

The Qing Dynasty not only extend China out of Great Wall, it conquer the entire outer Mongolia, outer Manchuria, Xinjiang, Tibet... every single one having more hostile terrain for military movement compared to the steppe.

Emperor Kangxi said it is useless to build Great Wall.修筑长城 实属无益。 Qing Dynasty is the only dynasty who did not build Great Wall.

话虽如此，杂汉的大唐远胜淫乱清谈的晋朝。实际上，汉族到了晋朝已经奄奄一息。到了明朝时已经是满朝魏忠贤这样的人了。

大清扫平一切牛鬼蛇神，军威之下，四夷来服，开疆辟土，造就空前武功，远胜明朝唉。
