"During 1972 the KGB counted that it had planted 3,789 articles in Indian newspapers. In 1975 the number had increased to 5510. The KGB found that there was no shortage of Indian journalists and politicians willing to take money."

Indian keep asking what can Pakistan offer anyone, in fact let me ask you what can India offer anyone anything?
India's foreign policy is solely based on import of military hardware.

China and Russia are strategic partners
1, SCO, security in Central Asia
2, Russian far-east development. economy
3, may be in the future, we will also see more and more cooperation in the pacific, together counter US dominance.
4, We both have a vote on UN security council, we takes turns to vote down USA.
4, you think a large part of Russia economy is depend on defense related export? Check oil.
If you think India-Russia trade is a lot, look at China-Russia trade numbers.

ask yourself this
what if you stopped buying Russian arms.
what if China decides to buy more Russian arms,(since our defense budget trebles yours)
what if Russia desires to cooperate with China on new defense joint ventures, (sure we have some trust issue on copyright, but we have way more advanced military technology than India)

shall I quote Vladimir Putin,
China is Russia’s “strategic partner in the full sense of this word.”
“We have always supported China on the most sensitive issues, including the Taiwan problem.”

China's number one ally is...U.S. multinationals

Who opened the U.S. market to Chinese companies? U.S. multinationals

Who pushed for China's inclusion into the WTO? U.S. multinationals

Who imports Chinese goods and create large trade surpluses for China? U.S. multinationals

Which American company imported more goods than all of Germany? Wal-Mart.

Who transfers technologies to China? U.S. multinationals

Who sponsored Chinese nationals for green cards in the U.S. after graduate school? U.S. multinationals

Who blunted anti-China trade legislation? U.S. multinationals

----------

Is China returning the favor? Yes.

Who sells millions of cars in the Chinese market? U.S. multinationals

Which foreigners own thousands of restaurants in China? U.S. multinationals

Who sells billions of soft drinks in China? U.S. multinationals

Which foreigners sell billions of movie tickets in China? U.S. multinationals

Who sells tens of millions of computer chips and operating systems in China? U.S. multinationals

In conclusion, China and U.S. multinationals are each other's strongest ally. China has grown immeasurably strong and U.S. multinationals have grown immeasurably rich. We can expect the Sino-American symbiosis to continue.

1) Russia-Iranian relation must last. China relies on global supply chains for its sweatshop exports and Saudi oil. The Chinese bend nearly every time America makes a demand. Russia on the other hand is one of the few self-efficient nations in the world, and remains the world's #2 military power.

Most Chinese weaponry, even to this day, still use imported, stolen or copied core Russian technology. Unlike China, Russia does not bend.

2) Iran is no where near a science or technology power. The country does not even have the capacity to refine its own crude into gasoline. The last time China exported refiners to Iran, the US demanded for that to stop, and stop they did. The Chinese will land a man on the moon, launch ICBMs which can reach anywhere in the world, #2 in Olympic medals, produce 5th generation jets -- achievements that Iran can only dream of.

3) The Chinese will also surpass Iran in per capita GDP in 2 years. The average Chinese will be significantly wealthier than the average Iranian. China surpasses Iran in every index from science to technology, education to infrastructure, collective to individual. The only thing Iran can offer is oil, most of which must be shipped by containers through the Indian Ocean, hardly a safe energy source for China.

4) The ideal Chinese ally is one which can bolster its claims to the South China seabed, -- its only possible major source of secured energy resource. Iran is not remotely near the region geographically, nor does it have the naval presence. As such it will forever remain a card which the Chinese will discard when the Americans are politically committed enough to cut a deal with the Communist state.

Chinese bend over to the Americans demands ?

Certainly isn't

Irrespective of "India's foreign policy is solely based on import of military hardware" Soviets, did come to India's assistance in 1971 war, when threatened by an American carrier, while Chinese were nowhere to be seen despite assurances given Pakistan

China and Russia are strategic partners

Strategic partners indeed, with tactical nukes aimed at China

A Preview Of Russia's New Military Doctrine

Zolotarev argued that, while the chances of a
large-scale war breaking out are remote, China would most
likely be the target of any preemptive nuclear strike.
Most
serious military planners dismissed any threat from NATO long
ago, he posited. China still has a mass mobilization army,
he said, and the Russian Far East is thinly populated, has
little infrastructure, and a small Russian military
contingent.

Why will India stop buying Russian arms?

what if China decides to buy more Russian arms,(since our defense budget trebles yours)

Who is stopping, as a matter of fact in the past when Chinese imports of Russian hardware surpassed that of India, Chinese often complained that India received TOT which were restricted to China.

what if Russia desires to cooperate with China on new defense joint ventures, (sure we have some trust issue on copyright, but we have way more advanced military technology than India)

Last i checked, Russia didn't have a collaboration with China on 5th generation fighter program, despite China having way more advanced military technology than India

shall I quote Vladimir Putin,
China is Russia’s “strategic partner in the full sense of this word.”
“We have always supported China on the most sensitive issues, including the Taiwan problem.”

.
Pakistan, obviously.

Frankly, no other country comes close.
Really? And how does one exactly define an 'ally'?

If you describe someone as your ally, it means that he helps and supports you, politically, militarily and economically.

Now, how much support has China given to Pakistan militarily? Except handing out some military equipment at cheap rates, it did nothing but provide lip service and some pathetic political support during 1965, 1971 and Kargil!

And then when Pakistan was in dire need of funds to tide over its precarious balance of payments situation, China refused point blank to loan it $7 billion which it desperately needed. Pakistan then had to run to the IMF instead (Controlled by the US of A) to get the much needed greenbacks under strict conditionalities.

$200 million which was promised by China to Pakistan for flood relief has yet to see the light of day, except for a paltry $40 million!!

What about trade? Sino-Pak trade is among the lowest with just $14 billion. Nothing to write home about. In contrast, Sino-Indian trade is presently at $70 billion and slated to reach $100 billion by 2015.

So, what is this 'alliance' all about? Other than rhetoric, there's nothing in it to shout about. An alliance cannot be one sided. China is instead using Pakistan as a proxy against India to divert its attention, purely for its own national interests. Period!

. . . .

Soviets were too big and too strong but they were not so arrogant and did not have expansionist policies unlike China today!
