What I like about Xi Jinping. He is a man with a real ego. Not one of those "keep a low profile and bide your time" kind of guys. His wife is a famous singer, more famous than him until recently.

Only a real man with a real ego -- a populist -- can take China places. Look at Mao.... Deng too has that gravitas because they are revolutionaries -- real hardcore men.

I don't trust those robotic mannered, fixed fake expression, instantly reciting party doctrine "party official" personalities like Hu Jintao. Those "keep a low profile" guys are the ones who play internal power games and try to put their family members into positions to make a lot of money.

In fact, somebody more charismatic or even flamboyant is much more in line with contemporary norms. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were both very charismatic in that way.

For your leader, you want somebody masculine and alpha. Somebody with balls and a big ego. Not some kind of pencil pusher bureaucrat with superb internal politicking ability.

Both Hu and Grandpa Wen are Liberals they have done a good job through,however I like Xi Jinping better.

He has ego? His wife was more well known than he was until 1999, and that was only because he got caught in a scandal.

Bo Xilai and Wang Yang are both far more outspoken than he is. Too bad Bo has the little problem of having his best friend caught for trying to defect.

No one here has a choice on who is the next leader, but since the man is chosen for you, you should all give him a little to consolidated his powers. I believe he is qualify to be a strong and no nonsense leader. The best wishes to him and China.

Comparing American criticism against John Huntsman for being able to speak Mandarin just goes to show how ignorant and ideological Americans are. American Christian fundamentalist Cold War style fanaticism is nothing China should be emulating. Having said that, I agree that Xi Jinping should not be considered for top leadership given the reasonable probability that he had knowledge of the smuggling.

After learning more about Xi Jinping, I change my mind about him. He seems like an excellent choice for the next leader of China. I spoke too soon as I didn't know as much about him then.

I think Xi is a B grade leader, his daughter's rumor isn't confirmed yet, and anything about his movie hobby is nothing but western media gossip.

The most disliked leader right now is Wang Yang, even Bo Xilai is far more popular than him despite his son is ultra corrupt.

I don't think Xi's daughter can be more corrupt than Bo's son, if people don't have a problem with Bo, then Xi should be fine.

He is a high school dropout that started working at age 17, but due to his hard work, got promoted to supervisor, then manager, and kept rising because of his hard work and intellect. Back in those days, you couldn't go to college without connections.

Xi Jinping is a rich princeling that had daddy helicopter him up. Wang Yang is someone I trust.

The princeling faction needs to serve as a balance with Tuanpai, even Tuanpai can become corrupt if nobody monitor them.

Wang Yang belongs to Tuanpai, but this guy is 100% traitor.

How is he traitor, he is a brave man that tries to shut down the Taiwanese sweatshops that are destroying our environment and destroying the economies of both China and Taiwan in the long term.

Everyone in the 80's was equally guilty of being a pro-West except the hard left. Peng Dehuai and Hu Yaobang aren't from the same era, there's no comparison.

Bo is a hardcore nationalist politically and socialist state planning oriented economically. That's the type of leader I trust. I also trust the politically liberal on the inside, socialist state planning oriented economically people like Wang Yang. I distrust authoritarian free market princelings like Wang Qishan and Xi Jinping.

They are personal friends of the Wall Street bankers, enough said. Both of them are the personal friends of Henry Paulson and other US oligarchs.
