China is the no 1 shipbuilder in the world and it has recently launched the largest super tanker in the World. This speaks volume on China's capacity and all the posts from our Indian friends here are just blablabla. By contrast India is only a midget compared to China regarding Shipbuliding capacity. Just look to all these Chinese ports and Shipbuilding facilities in Shanghai and Dalian. There are nothing comparable in the World. India is builiding only Warships and this is done with the total assistance of Russia and now US, EU and Israel. The so-called India experience in Aircraft carrier is due to the handing over of old British Airicraft carriers to India like the HMS Hermes donated to India after the Falkland wars. By the way the Hermes should have been sunk by the Argentine Mirage using exocet. According to History the Argentine pilots had instead sunk the Atlantic Conveyor.
exactly, but it seems they always fail to realise that`they hv no idea what is industrial capability and fundation. take a closer look at those country of orignins of best MBT, fighter jet, rocket, radar and battleships. with no exception they were/are all manufacturing superpowers, like the U.S, Rus, Germany, U.K and Japan.
why people dont pay much attention to indian's LCA, Arjun and their other 'indigineous' inventories, the reason is very simple, without foreign direct assistance and foreign made parts, india just cannot make them which is sad truth! iindia is seriouly lack of very basic technological know-how. one crude fact is that india has to import 5.56mm and AKMS ammunitions from isreal and Romania. i dont know how indian friends are going to explain this, but an non-war engaging and supposed powerful country can not even meet their ammunition demand which demonstrated very well the whole picture of indians industrial capability`
back on topic, china spends more than 10 years on this russian half-finished aircraft, we only see recent years the process speeded quickly, it is the result of china's effort to upgrade its industry level. only ecently seeing the shift from low-end manufacturing to middle and high-ends in china, this transaction is the natrual evolution of china's manufacturing industry, this neally took us 25 years to have that happening..! in 2009 China was the biggest high tech products (factory CNC machineries, IT hardwares, ship buildings, wireless products, aviations, automobiles``etc) exporter followed by US Germany and Japan`.
only until now we can safely say that we can build a baisc aircraft carrier!
