China's capital orders Arabic, Muslim symbols taken down

Right, hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Only boots/people on the ground that we can trust can let us know what happening but seeing as similar news has been coming from all kinds of sources about the persecution of Uyghurs (Turks, Indonesians/Malays, Western Media and out of China Uyghurs). I kinda believe they'll take this step.

Who can stop them??

The West only care to separate China and the Muslim world, they don't care about the Uyghurs. Pakistan can't act because it's in a relationship (economic, financial & military) with China. And none of the other countries other than Turkey can do much about it.

We also have to take into account that Xinjiang (East Turkestan if we follow what it's real name was and what locals call it too) was annexed by Communist China not long ago. This isn't their land, the Han Chinese civilization belongs near the Yangtze and the Yellow River just like we, Pakistanis, belong to the Indus and not the Ganga or Bengali rivers.

Historically, China never expanded past the desert/land of Tibet as you can see below:

WwWrEqA.jpg

You can see above how there's a big divide in the green east and the desert west. And historically, Chinese (Han, Yuan, Tang, etc etc) have lived in the Eastern part.

All their major cities are located near the Pacific Ocean too!

But this is a topic for another thread. :D

But yea, I believe East Turkestan doesn't belong to China, just like Kashmir or Palestine doesn't belong to outsiders.

The answer is very simple. What is China's policy regarding its western frontiers? It wants to economically develop this region and Pakistan plays a vital part. This means there will be exchanges occurring between the people. Pakistani businessmen and the public who desire to go on holiday in Xinjiang will see the truth. Therefore, the truth can't be hidden at least in the long term. Hence why I said to you before, instead of reading articles visit the region and then the answer to your question will appear in front of you. In my opinion, Xinjiang belongs to China, and it's in Pakistan's interests to support its ally. I guess we shall disagree with this point:)

Yes, please visit Turpan and outlying towns, mosques are shut down; in the villages - mosques have been completely razed to the ground. Friday prayers which had hundreds are only populated by less than 40; where are the young people gone? That is the question - just last year or 2 it was opposite; you have to look at Food Ranger's videos where he was travelling and it was amazing to see openness and frankness including friday prayers where thousands were.

Regretfully these Gang of Four have been re-invigorated when they did the same then; amongst the Hui there is now transliteration of arabic into chinese script so that those who cannot read arabic will get to hifz the texts with the pronounciations.

My professor colleague who visits annually to China and spends months there including in Xian; this year said for the first time he felt very uncomfortable and how difficult life has become as a muslim.

If what you said was true, I would like to know why the CPC Govt has taken this radical step in the last 2 years. Furthermore, it would be interesting to know who is spearheading this policy. What I'm referring to is above Hu Angang pay grade. The Chinese have spent enough time in Muslim countries, so they should be aware of what Friday prayers mean to Muslim. If I was advising the CPC Govt I would recommend bringing a Muslim delegation abroad and take them to count every single mosque in Xinjiang, so for future reference, we would know whether a mosque is razed to the ground and they can't hide it. What food ranger experienced was exactly what I felt when I visited the region in 2014. I hope Pakistan can help China to improve the situation and guide them. The Chinese are scared of radicalism but Pakistan is an expert in this field and we have dealt with this issue and the results speak for themselves.

I dont disagree with where Xinjiang lies e.g. with or without China. What is key is respect for diversity.

I speak of our experiences in my own country where any tradition outside Roman Dutch law was considered useless; for example - did you know under aparthied, all religious or traditional marriages were considered null and void - this meant virtually all african traditional marriages, including muslim or hindu or jewish wedding rites were null and all kids were deemed as illigitimate by the state; this included myself and siblings - we were marked as such on our birth certificates!. The very first act that post Aparthied govt did was to reinstate the legality. If this does not give you a sense of lunacy; you can understand why I am passionate of standing up for muslim rights which are being violated in Xinjiang.

Visit this country of ours; go to a supermarket, you will find virtually every product with star cresent symbol- we dont use the arabic notation on food; there will be a K for Kosher. It is to the point even Potatoes are labelled. Next, stop over at any petrol stations on the highway or visit airports no matter how small, you will find a prayer room. This despite the fact that muslim make up only less than 3% of the population. What this has done is blend into a sense of unity when a country accepts muslims for who and what they are you will not see any opposition or sense of segregation. When most SA muslims travel abroad they realise who backward most states are in catering for halal. Take Nandos' = it has been halal since its inception back in 1989; chicken licken; steers; virtually all food places in this country.

Next see where Food ranger is travelling; play close attention to stores, restaurants and streets; you will not find check points, massive surveillance cameras at each home or flooded on the ceiling; the last VICE documentary you will see this; you should check it by your very own eyes as well.

My professor friend said the same that in Xian, it is also being felt as Hui now are feeling under seige and they are the next targets.

Pakistan is a unique place. We have snow, mountain, deserts, and good beaches. The food is amazing, and it depends upon which region you are staying in. If you are in Lahore then you must go to food street and have Nihari, Haleem, Karahi from Butt and Paya. Each region in Pakistan has its own take on these recipes. If you are in KPK then you must try Chapali Kebab, Pilau Rice, Nisar Charsi Kebab barbeque. My personal favorite dish is Namak Gosht Karahi. There are many more dishes. In Karachi and Hyderabad, they make the best Biryani hands down. Karachi is also very good for its seafood especially prawn karahi. There also other dishes like Takatak and butter chicken. In Balochistan, you must try Sajji, Rosh, Khadi Kebab, Landhi, Pirki, and Abgoosht. The lists can go on.

Thanks for this specific answer bro, I think I will go to that Pakistani restaurant, actually the location is not too far from my home. What is the best time to visit Pakistan ? As I heard that temperature there can be very high like 42 degrees.

Ma'sha'allah. There are many blessings and rewards when a person prays Tahajjud. I'm sorry to hear about your father's passing. In'sha'allah he will enter the gates of paradise.

Ameen. Thank you bro. I also hope we can improve our religiosity and be successful in this world and hereafter.

Thank you for educating me on the history of Indonesia. I want to study Muslim history in this region. For such a small group they have done well for themselves. Each country has a group of people who are very talented in business. In Pakistan, one of the best businessmen are Memon who were originally from Gujarat in India. Some of the best businessmen in India have their roots from Gujarat. Is the culture, food and clothing style different between the Minang and Acehnese? I will look at this thread. Are you from the Minang community? Thank you, for sending me the names of those movies, I'm going to watch them when I have time. I agree with Pakistani/Indo crosses are stunning. I think I need to find myself an Indonesia wife:)

No problem bro. Ya according to Indonesian history, beside Arabs, people from Gujarat are very important to the spread of Islam in Indonesia, particularly in Sumatra. Aceh food are also influenced from India and some of the people there also look like Indian as Aceh is the nearest region in Indonesia to India.

The food is different between Aceh and Minang (West Sumatra) but the culture I think is quite similar as both very Islamic oriented. The clothing (traditional) style is different but still has similarity as both cover all body. On the other hand Javanese have more open in their traditional clothe but nowadays they have Islamic style as well as Indonesia seems to get more conservative after 2000. You can check different style of our ethnic traditional clothe in my thread. But in every day life they dont wear that accept for wedding.

Well known traditional clothing of Indonesia women for formal event is kebaya who comes from Javanese tradition (more open) and Baju Kurung which come from Malays (Sumatra, Kalimantan) (more closed/Islamic). For both Men and Women there is also Batik clothe.

Ya, my parent are both Minang but I live in Jakarta. There are many Minang community in Jakarta.

I think Pakistani women is also stunning and if Pakistani women compete in Muslim beauty pageant, they have bigger chance to win it according to my opinion. Puteri (princess) Muslimah Asia competition will include Pakistan for event in 2020. This beauty pageant will be much bigger starting at 2020 since it will be a competition of 18 countries which also include Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, etc. Currently it only have participants from 6 countries (South East Asia plus Turkey).

You sure know nothing about this event. The history background of Muslim revolt is, Qing government sent most of its troops in north to south China to fight with Taiping revolt. The Muslims in north China wanted to take this chance to establish an Islamic country(Sounds familiar?). They simply took genocide method to Hans.

See below Chinese version wiki. Han Chinese lost 4 million population in Shanxi province and lost 8 million population in Gansu province. This is huge. But few people outside China know it. Weird world,eh?

LOL "Chinese Wiki"....how do I know the claims aren't wrong and outright false??

You gotta be shitting me. Like I said before, Muslims didn't "genocide" any Han Chinese, it was the famine that did it.

Show me some neutral sources other than your CPC propaganda. Also, no one gives you the right in turn to demonize the Uyghurs. Like someone said before, two wrongs don't make a right.

Btw, everyone has the right to rebel against their current government. Did Chinese do that all the time?? Isn't that how the CPC/Current China was formed?? Out of the Chinese Civil War?

Don't use google translation. I never said "bullying as a humaninty"

Then tell us what you actually wrote. I'm very interested. Google Translate came pretty close to translating what you wrote and it's for all the forum to see. :D

Without knowing China history at all, you better talk something else you knew.

Your one liners won't help you here. Post facts, images and sources like I did.

Then come back and reply to my posts. I know Chinese history like it is. I don't know CCP's version of Chinese history which has been forced down your and your countrymens throats.

Hence why I said to you before, instead of reading articles visit the region and then the answer to your question will appear in front of you.

I'm currently a student hence very broke :D

But yea, I plan on visiting China in the near future when I have enough internships & a stable job. In Sha Allah

In my opinion, Xinjiang belongs to China, and it's in Pakistan's interests to support its ally. I guess we shall disagree with this point:)

Right, nothing wrong with disagreeing. If we all agreed on every matter (as Pakistanis). Where's the fun of this forum and the debate? :D

Don't be easy on this propagandist and half-truth liers......all his links proved nothing.

The people in that wiki rebelled against the Qing Empire but the Qing won in the end....majority of the deaths were caused by a famine...not by any Muslims.

Actually, according to his wiki link, the Hui Muslims helped the Qing Empire (which was dying and died during the World Wars).....look how the Hui got paid back.

Nope, you can't read English. The Western Part wasn't part of the Han Empire thus the color change. Please don't show you low IQ level.

It was a vassal state which later got independent too. You gotta stop on the CCP propaganda injections.

Some Pakistani may have concerns for Uighur because of religion, they don't dispute Xinjiang isn't part of China. You're threading past religion line into national sovereignty, only Indians would be so against China, and do it so fervently. You expose yourself too much

Even the map of Han dynasty you posted is selectively inaccurate. It covers Xinjiang and beyond.

There is Chinese poem which was made during Dunggan revolt:
同治五年三月间,杀气弥漫天。
十余万人一朝尽,问谁不心酸。
桃含愁兮柳带烟,万里黄流寒。
阖邑子弟泪潸潸,染成红杜鹃。
清歌一曲信史传,千秋寿名山。
碧血洒地白骨撑天,哭声达乌兰。

Too bad you don't understand Chinese. This poem is really horrible and full of tears and anger. I'll translate part of it. "同治五年三月间,杀气弥漫天。"--------March of fifth year of Tongzhi(1864),the killing atmosphere soared to sky. "十余万人一朝尽,问谁不心酸。" --------More than 100,000 people vanished just in one day. Who wouldn't feel heartbroken. "碧血洒地白骨撑天,哭声达乌兰。"-----Blood sprayed to ground. Bones piled to sky. Cry could be heard a thousand miles away.

100,000 people died in one day. How was it caused by femine?

Btw, everyone has the right to rebel against their current government. Did Chinese do that all the time?? Isn't that how the CPC/Current China was formed?? Out of the Chinese Civil War?
You are absolutely right. Everyone has the right to rebel against their curren government. And to be fair, every government has the right to handle them. China is handling them based on what they did. So what are you complaining about?

What has changed now is that they no longer have their iron brother throne on this forum anymore, and the rules apply to them much more than before.

You can see more of them get banned these days and a number have left because they got too used to the earlier "little-emperor" complex perpetuated...and cannot re-adjust to being treated as same as everyone else (especially after the bride-scam perpetuated inside Pakistan by some Chinese came to light). This has its own psyche link with what the CPC "big brother" govt does/operates in China for the "social good"...and how they get dependent on that too.

The certain autism from such fellows you see on forums like this (when they venture out of their chinese only groupthink forums) has a deeper reason. They like to claim its a language barrier too sometime, its lot deeper than that.

My professor friend said the same that in Xian, it is also being felt as Hui now are feeling under seige and they are the next targets.

What tribe do you come from brother or is your descent originally Indian? I never knew under the apartheid system all traditional marriages were considered null and void. That policy was extreme and makes no sense. Thank God, such an oppressive regime was dismantled. When it comes to Xinjiang the situation is very complex. Take the CPC Govt out of the equation and look at the relationship between the Uyghurs and other ethnic groups. The situation is bleak and hostile. I'm not even talking about the Han. These issues date back centuries ago and it needs to stop. Both sides are to be blamed. The Govt needs to approach this situation carefully. They can stop radicalization without impeding the religious rights of Muslim's. What works in Beijing won't work in Xinjiang. There needs to be some political reform and from my experience talking to my friends, it will occur in the future when the next generation outside from the influence of the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution will be the next leaders of China.

Interesting to hear how things run in South Africa. Thank you, for the information brother. The problem with the Uyghurs is they have a tiff with all other ethnic groups. I remember asking similar questions of Uyghur oppression and then my Chinese friend showing me a video where a random Uyghur began butchering the Hui. The attack was strategic and the person knew who he was targeting. The same could be vice versa. Until these communities don't make peace then we can have another Rwanda style situation. Hatred breeds violence and it leads to misery. Instead, they must come to a common ground and work together for a prosperous future. I believe Pakistan can play a role in this. I can't believe Nandos was Halal in South Africa since 1989. In Britain, only some areas have Halal Nandos and it hasn't even been 10 years.

In regards to mass surveillance, it's implemented across China. I want a similar situation in Pakistan because quite frankly brother we have too many bad elements in our society that are running unchecked. Look at the situation in Waziristan. When we had checkpoints attacks on the military was virtually non-existent. When this policy was taken off dozens of soldiers have died. So I can understand why China has checkpoints in Xinjiang. It's not the most ideal situation, but stability is more important than mayhem. I hope China doesn't target the Hui. The Hui have a long history of fighting back.

I'm currently a student hence very broke :D

But yea, I plan on visiting China in the near future when I have enough internships & a stable job. In Sha Allah

What are you studying? Student life is tough, but play hard and work hard is my motto:) You will enjoy visiting China In'sha'allah. The people are friendly, and there are many historical sites. You can then give us your opinion on Chinese cities in comparison to US cities. I agree difference of opinion is good. I believe you can learn more if you challenge other people because they can bring forth arguments you didn't think for yourself. Thus the process can be a good education.

Thanks for this specific answer bro, I think I will go to that Pakistani restaurant, actually the location is not too far from my home. What is the best time to visit Pakistan ? As I heard that temperature there can be very high like 42 degrees.

No problem brother. In my opinion, most restaurants outside of Pakistan will typically have a karahi dish, mix grill involves Chicken Tikka, Mutton Tikka, Lamb Shish Kebab cooked with onions and Kulfi is a good dessert dish. If they have lassi then try that too brother. But food in Pakistan is always more authentic. I don't enjoy that many Pakistani restaurants in the UK. From October-November or February-March is the best time to visit Pakistan in my opinion. In some places, the weather can even be above 42 degrees in the summer.

Ameen. Thank you bro. I also hope we can improve our religiosity and be successful in this world and hereafter

In'sha'allah. The Muslim world is in disarray we mustn't forget our roots. The Quran is our guide and we should read it to help answer our questions. We can only be successful in this world and hereafter if we show love to Allah and his beloved Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Our aim in life should be to fight for Allah cause and strengthen the Muslim world.

I find that surprising to hear people from Gujarat were important in spreading Islam to Indonesia. But then again it was always a key port, and many people would sail and trade from this location. If Aceh food is influenced by Indian cuisine does that mean they eat in thali? We don't have this culture in Pakistan except for some areas in Sindh and Karachi who had migration from Gujarat. How did Hinduism come into Indonesia? I heard from some Indian people the religion has been around in the Islands much longer than Islam.

The food is different between Aceh and Minang (West Sumatra) but the culture I think is quite similar as both very Islamic oriented. The clothing (traditional) style is different but still has similarity as both cover all body. You can check different style of our ethnic traditional clothe in my thread. But in every day life they dont wear that accept for wedding.

That's good to hear. It means I can try out more dishes with different flavors. Indonesian clothing looks colorful and the pattern design is very nice. Pakistani traditional clothing is also very conservative and I'm glad we kept it rather than following the west. Furthermore, wearing shalwar kameez (Pakistan clothing) is much more comfortable in hot weather. Remember brother when you come to Pakistan purchase yourself one. It makes a whole big difference. What made Indonesia more conservative after 2000.

Ya, my parent are both Minang but I live in Jakarta. There are many Minang community in Jakarta.

It nice to speak to someone from the Minang community. I'm actually now going ask some of my Malaysian friends if they are Minang:) Pakistani woman are beautiful and there look is quite diverse, the only reason why the world doesn't see much is that we are conservative especially in KPK. They don't like people taking pictures of there woman. But they are super friendly as you can see from the video. I never knew there was an Asian beauty pageant. Ma'sha'allah those sisters looked beautiful. You don't need to be half-naked to show off your beauty.

LOL what you post is inaccurate, selective or not.

The Han Dynasty didn't directly control Xinjiang, it had vassal states there, as seen in my maps. Several of which I posted. And my maps come from neutral sources.

Even your maps don't show them controlling all of Xinjiang or Western China, only parts of it and that too for a century or less.

Keep spreading and talking bs on this forum, people like me will be there to counter it. :enjoy:

We don't believe in Chinese sources that exaggerate the truth or make truths out of thin air. Like I said before, even your Wiki link about the Dungan Revolt said that many people died to reasons other than direct conflict. Mainly famine, migration and lack of food/resources etc etc.

Either way, it was not the Muslims fault as you so kindly portray as a sign of your hate towards Muslim, Chinese or otherwise.

You are absolutely right. Everyone has the right to rebel against their curren government. And to be fair, every government has the right to handle them. China is handling them based on what they did. So what are you complaining about?

Simply said, you and your fellow propagandists spreading half-truths and lies here on PDF which many others along with me keep exposing each and everyday. :D

Exactly, thanks for exposing this liar. And I have noticed many of your points too.

This is a international forum, all rules should apply equally to all nationalities, whether Pakistanis or not. Allies or Pakistan or not.

Good thing the illusion of brotherhood is coming off and we see it as a equal partnership. Not a "you need me, I need you more kinda situation".

No point reasoning it out, he'll trolling you. He's Indian, been called out by other Pakistani members. He has issues with Tibet too, only Indians do. Pakistani don't.

LOL you think a banned poster who is known by all to name call anyone who disagrees with him makes your point any valid??

To think you guys are considered really smart...

Plus, I have been name called a "Western Agent", "Indian" etc etc...I don't give a flying F about it.

You can burn as much as you want, name call me as much as you want. I'll just show my ID to the management and my US + Pakistani passports and the matter will be settled in a second.

Good thing is, that no one believes your bull crap about my nationality. :D

My major is A.E., Aerospace Engineering. :D

Always had a passion for flying, will be getting a learners permit soon too with the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) to fly some of those WW1 type of planes.

As for the discussion part, yea, even these Chinese trolls teach me a lot. Let alone serious discussers/debaters. :D

Nope - my forefathers/mothers came from Allepo in 1920; they fled to Iran then next generation journeyed to South Africa. Nandos first started as Chickenland in Johannesburg then became Nandos; they really took off to the skies and spread far and beyond. From day 1, they were completely halal. Similarly Chicken licken which is beyond amazing is a local franchise is same.

Take down chinese symbols in Muslim countries. Muslimize the chinese pop.

LOL.....we won't do that. As much the idea appeals to me.

When you're on the right, you don't take a U turn. :D

What'll be the difference between us and the draconian state?

Let the Chinese come and see our hospitality. It'll fly in their face to see how we treat them versus how they treat their minorities.

If they see it as a act of us submitting to them, then that'll be their folly. ;)
