China wine anti-dumping probe sparks French anger

The problem with the EU is that it's not a coherent entity that has unified goals. Germany, UK and the Netherlands opposed starting a trade war (amazing when these 'anti-dumping' tariffs would ostensibly protect Germany the most), but France and Italy disregarded the interests of their neighbors and opportunistically tried to raise an anti-China bandwagon for their own selfish interests, even while Europe is in crisis and can't afford antagonizing a major trade partner.

But good thing China knows that not everyone is equally culpable. Germany exports negligible quantities of wine to China, and will thus go unpunished, but France must understand that crime doesn't pay. But when I read LeMonde and see comments like, "'L'Allemagne montre une fois de plus sa conception de l'Europe, dont la seule raison d'être est de servir ses intérêts", I realize most Frenchman will never realize that they can't offload their liabilities onto their partners. Such an irresponsible, freeloading race.

BBC News - China wine anti-dumping probe sparks French anger

LOL at the French, you still think you got Napoleon on the throne? OR that China will be pushed around.

Wake up call EU, at this moment in time, we are superior to you. You screw with us and we will screw with you.

How do you superior to EU when EU have twice your GDP??

Start a trade war, I would actually see it will hurt China more, You pull your export to EU and they pull their tech to China, they can source your export elsewhere, but where would you sell to if not EU taking up your slack? Prepare to dig landfill for those unsold Chinese product then.

Keeping nationalistic about this won't solve a thing, I don't really get you, one minute you are all claim and talking about point, another you are just like your fellow 50 cents brother. Chill, take a pill (Won't say chill again) and a coffee, and think who would be the big loser if EU and China start a trade war?? And more important, who will benefit??

Thank you Genesis for sending China messages to the world.
Did EU hear that China are superior to you. Watch out world the evil dragon are awaken.

well. he probably just in WAY over his head, he will clam down with time come

or he had reply too many post with Vietnam and he is thinking EU, as a whole is the same as Vietnam......

probably the most neutral response without being ultra nationalist.

EU is at war, where power struggle within EU would be overcasting the French row with China........

Problem is, Not many country in the EU follow French, and France, well, they always think they are the top dog in EU. (Which IMO, they weren't) The only way the EU would reunited to stand to the outside threat is when that threat is clear and present. In another word, if China start "Punishing" EU, then EU will reunited and go against China.

AS long as China play its cool, EU will just barking amongst them and nothing will ever get done, like what they used to do.

This is China targeting the EU countries that supported the solar probe. If we wanted to crush the EU, we would stop automobile and chemical imports. It's a small stick before the big stock approach. EU needs our market since we are a fast growing economy with the 3rd largest consumer market and the largest market for industries EU specialises in such as automobiles, luxury goods, chemicals, machinery.

Chinese domestic consumption is growing very fast which means EU companies need our market to survive. We are sending a message with the wine probe. It's putting the ball in the EU court, you go ahead with more probes against us, we will respond with more probes against EU companies.

We hold all the cards. Europe is economically and financially finished. It's a dinosaur continent. Europe is already struggling, if they want a trade war against us, we will make Europe squirm like dogs and watch that entire continent economically suffer a very painful death.
Stop vehicle imports? Lol.....I guess you can put the unemployed trinket makers to work pulling rick-shaws.

We don't need European vehicles. We have our own automobile brands. If they want access to the Chinese market, they will have to setup production plants in China. No importing from Europe.

Are the Chinese cars as good as the Trabi or Yugo?

EU needs China far more. Our exports to Europe have been sinking. Our domestic consumption is rising and our exports to other Asian, Latin American and African countries are expanding rapidly. As for tech transfers, we can steal it. We don't need EU approval to get access to that technology. Everyone does it.

We hold all the cards. Europe is begging on their knees to get access to our rapidly expanding consumer market. German economy is surviving only because it exports to us. We are keeping the EU in life support. Without us, Europe will have 50-70% unemployment.

When we sneeze, the world gets pneumonia.

The white race is fast becoming irrelevant in this world because of the rise of China, we can accelerate that process and make the whites kiss our Chinese arses :coffee:

Ask any country, when we sneeze, the world gets pneumonia. When bad data come out of China, the global financial markets crash. When our demand falls, many countries GDP falls.

Our growth contributes more than 25% to global growth. We are the number 1 contributor to global growth since the financial crisis where the west began its terminal decline.

Financial markets move based on Chinese economic data. Chinese capital markets are still closed so it doesn't affect it. Our sheer economic might alone is big enough to move ANY world market. When our capital markets become open to the world, our influence will be just beyond staggering.

There are discussions going on whether its time for HK to peg it's currency to the appreciating RMB instead of the collapsing green toilet paper. But since the RMB is still not convertible under the capital account, HK will wait a few more years.

Our economic influence is now bigger than the US. More countries trade with us than the US. AP did a report on this.
Even though we are only 20% of our full potential and America is at 100% of its own potential, we are still beating the US. Just shows what a power we are. When we reach 100% of our potential, America and Europe combined won't be able to touch China. China's population is bigger than the ENTIRE western world COMBINED!

China still have a way to go before catch up to America. And the only solution is for Chinese people to work harder and smarter.

EU as a whole has bigger GDP than America, is EU superior to America? EU is just a bunch of nations that hates/mistrust or both each other that forms an trade partnership.

As I have said, EU stores that sell Chinese goods also profit, it's not like we earn everything. Where else can you get that much goods, with quality(yea I said it, for the price it is quality, you want better pay for it), and on time delivery. No other country or countries can do it.

There won't be a trade war, it's just wine not the end of the world. Especially since there have been no action at this point.

As to the calm and nationalistic thing, I can be calm if you want to argue with points that supports your statement, and be at least some what fair in judgement.

I know what the French thinks of China, I been there, not long, just vacation and a semester in college. The French try to impose unfair trade regulations on China and it expects no retaliation, this is pretty much their expectation that we'll take this lying down. Don't pretend the French didn't think that, cause if they even thought of us as equals they would not have dealt with China the way it did.

And the message below that just makes me not want to respond to you....
