China Will Build the Tallest Building In the World in Just 90 Days

.
changsha GDP 2011
- Total USD 87.00 billion
- per capita USD 12,313
- Growth 14.5%

changsha is a city with very fast growing rate. better than average growth in china.

more and more high building will be build in changsha in near future.

I don't know about "ninety days" but I do know there is great room to improve the productivity of building construction. Here in America the process is vastly slowed down by the resistance of unions to technology innovation and the sloth - even corruption - of government inspectors when it comes to approving plans, permits, zoning changes, and the like. It would be easier for Americans to build a hundred-meter moonship in ninety days than it would be for us to build a thirty-story skyscraper in the same period.

The tallest is i think under construction or about to. Its in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia called the 'Kingdom Tower', which will be 1 MILE tall.

The problem with the collapsed building is obviously geological. Obviously it's still a problem and the site should have either not been selected or readied better. But who can honestly claim that their developing country has first world standards? Every developing country has corruption, under table deals etc... Sadly it's only through such accidents that standards get better. That's the only way and we saw it in Europe and USA. If accidents happen in China it's because they're building stuff while other developing countries are sitting on their behinds, that's pretty much it.

That building in the pic is obviously a mass housing project and it's nothing similar to the project being discussed.

I remember that incident was caused by geological reasons. And just as a side-note, the building had "none" of its glasses shattered, and the building fell down in "one piece". To me, that is saying the building itself is of very high quality and so is the glasses, but the constructors failed to inspect the geology careful enough.

No the cause was nothing to do with geological reasons. It was due to construction of a underground carpark in front and piling of earth behind the building which underminded its foundations.

According to its engineers, this will be the tallest skyscraper in the world by the end of March of 2013. Its name is Sky City, and its 2,749 feet (838 meters) distributed in 220 floors will grow in just 90 days in Changsha city, by the Xiangjiang river. Ninety days!

It's not a joke. According to the construction company, the skyscraper will be built in just 90 days at the unbelievable rate of five floors per day.

It's hard to believe, but they claim the building has been designed by some of the engineers who previously worked at the Burj Khalifa. It is also the same firm that built a full 30-story hotel in 15 days—which yes, is still standing and in perfect working condition.

It is still standing?

Honestly, if I am a customer, I would not choose an apartment in a building which was built super-fastly.
And you?

Yeah, that's the thing I was talking about. The foundation being undermined counts as geological factor....and the car park construction is not related to the building itself.

Thanks for the clarification

It's called prefabricated building, which means all they have to do is assemble the parts together. It's okay, since your country is miles behind in construction technology, having smaller economy than my home city. I don't expect you to understand.

Yes, mentality of trying to prove that you have "high-tech", "highest" in the world, one of them is "prefabricated building High-technology", "fastest build"... that will lead to danger.

I know prefabricated building, I understand you.
