'China will be 2nd most powerful nation by 2050'

I wouldn't go that far.
I would...And did.

I would say ChineseTiger has made a point worth thinking about.
Even the wealthiest among us knows the value of family ties and the strength thereof. Think about it -- the first group who benefits from a person's success, be it speculating in the stock market, or a job promotion, or winning the lottery, is the family. Not strangers. This has nothing to do with 'traditional Asian values'. This is a universal human trait.

.
So what is the different between Dem and dem?

So i guess that you affiliate with another branch of dem, maybe the dixiecrat in the Southern states, if it is true, then that would be even more surprising to me. :cheesy:
I really do not want to post one of those 'facepalm' images...:disagree:

So you think that i was attempting to demonize the American society, but the collectivism vs individualism does exist among the Eastern and Western society.

Even my college teacher of the management course, who was American, agreed that Americans made very bad business practices. You can sign the contract with anybody, even the people you never know before. Which end up with a pile of lawsuits and gives the lawyers many opportunities to rip you off. This is the way to produce US GDP.

Because theres nothing to justify a facepalm image. Everything that post you quoted speaks the truth. Its about time you grow up and realise reality boy, smell the coffee
AMerica had its day - move along.

Its now kinda sad that you personally go on mad old lady crusade(on PMT if I may add)to justify Americas terrorism on the world and having a good laugh on peoples death.

You need mercy. If its not for the Chinese you would still be living in your caves feeding on banana trees.

Nooo...I am saying that you are wrong in arguing, back on page 9, that somehow wanting to have more than one's basic needs somehow compels a person into abandoning his human relationships, as if such is a characteristic of wealth. It is not. If anything, increased wealth is more likely to bring people together, even at the shallow level where we see plenty of 'gold diggers' women or convenient 'friends' or 'long lost relatives' who came out of nowhere. How a person deal with wealth is particular to that person, vis-a-vis his upbringing, not of the capitalist philosophy.

Bad business practices are more prevalent in a society where capitalists thrives. You have a false perception of capitalism and capitalists. Not every businessman in a capitalist society is a millionaire and for every millionaire there is a million mediocre capitalists and tens of millions of poor capitalists. Either you were asleep in economic class or had a very poor teacher. Am willing to bet both...

Agreed 100%.

What is even more troubling is the blind admiration for anything Western among China's younger generations. True, there is a great deal that China could learn from the United States but this doesn't mean that we must imitate what is bad about Western societies. I am stunned by how "congressional brawls" were supposed to be a sign of advanced political systems, for example.

This is the "vocal minority" syndrome. The people who are happy with themselves and their society, or at least do not hate it, are less likely to speak up than those who hate everything. And because China has a large population base, even a 7% disapproval rate (which we do have) will result in 91 million people hating the government.

I don't know too many people who would say fights in congress are signs of advanced politics (they're probably koreans or paid by the CIA), and most people actually think most officials in the US are elected.

Just to say that Chinese family values are different with the West, and even different with Japan now , to do more to understand, then to speak, ok?

Oh? Did not the United States to attempt to control the economy, now? Socialism?

.
In fact, money society has a big problem, gambit, you know China's "科举制度(imperial system)"?

.
china can become economically powerful but not in terms of military because it is far behind russia and will be very much difficult to reduce the gap in 40 years because till now china has not mastered in jet engines and BMD tech and many more areas so 40 yrs will not be enough

can any one tell me something developed by china more powerful than the Russian counterpart

40 years is one hell of a time period for anyone to grow, or grow just one sector.

Check out the last one decade of the Chinese weapons program, may be it can give you an idea how they are going and what they can achieve in coming years.

40 years ago, no one would have thought what China will be today, but we can see what China has become, similarly, you don't know what China will be producing in coming decades.

And weapons are not just about being powerful, its about quality and their combat effectiveness.

Even now most of so called chinese weapons are the copies of the russian weapon and reverse engg of the weapons it has bought
chinese so called yaun 41 class sub most powerful non nuclear sub are copies of russian improved kilo class
chinese HQ-9 and HQ-10 so called advanced chinese BMD missiles are copies of S300 missiles
many more chinese most capable plane J11 copied from SU-27
and J-10 with israil design and russian engine

.
and in terms of quality Chinese are the least its known all over the world

Are you sure about Yuan being a copy of Kilo ?? Have you seen its design and shape ?? Yuan has a rudder above the water level, while Kilo has none with a single rudder. Yuan has two diving planes on its sail, while Kilo has none on its sail. So, plz next time, instead of making bogus claims, do some research and see what are the similarities and what not. Yuan is not a copy of Kilo, certain features may have been influenced by it in the Yuan, that does not makes it a copy of it.

J-10 is not an Israeli design, go and check both the planes design and then come and talk about it.

HQ-9 may seem a copy of the S-300, but its guidance is still different.

J-11 is not a copy of Su-27, it was a complete tech transfer deal between Russia and China, and the Chinese made it more better for themselves by using their own tech and did not relied on the Russians for that.

And in the end, do you think, it is that easy to make a copy of something ?? Had it been that easy everyone would have been doing that. So even if China is copying these things, its still another feat to speak about, and China while copying makes improvement in the design and is trying to make its weapon systems more effective.
