China wants its warships in Indian waters to search for plane : India declines permission

. .
Does china didnt have hitech surveillance sats to find an object from space??
OF course they have remote sensing satellites which can detect small objects from space.

.
Does not matter, by the time India has reached a decision, the plane will have been located and the analysts will have determined the cause for the tragic incident

After objections raised by the defence forces, India on Thursday rejected China's request for permission to allow its four warships to enter Indian maritime zone to search for the missing Malaysian airliner.

China, whose 150 nationals are on board the aircraft, had on Wednesday sent a formal request to India to allow their warships including a salvage vessel and two frigates to enter Indian waters in the Andaman Sea to locate the plane.

The request was politely declined and the Chinese Navy was told that Indian Navy and the Air Force were already scanning the area and there was no need for anybody else to search the area, sources told PTI.

The defence forces had raised objections over the entry of Chinese warships into the Indian waters and that too in an area in Bay of Bengal where India's military assets are mainly to guard against China and these could get exposed if the Chinese warships are allowed in, they said.

Sources said the Chinese People's Liberation Army's Navy (PLAN) had justified its presence in the Indian Ocean Region in the name of anti-piracy patrol and allowing it to station itself in the Andaman Sea for search operations would not have been prudent.

Meanwhile, India is all set to deploy long-range maritime surveillance aircraft including the P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft and the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft for the search operations in the new area south of Indonesia.

These two aircraft are capable of undertaking long-range sorties and refueling themselves at designated locations as the Malaysian authorities have requested India and other countries to search in areas 5,000 km south of Jakarta in the Indian Ocean Region.

India has most advanced Satellites and P8I reconnaissance I think IN can help Chinese in this regard.

No need for Chinese ships in Indian waters. They can search in SCS and help the Malaysians.

Good. As someone has said it right - Prevention is better than cure:enjoy:

China has got hitech surveillance sats.they could get view of very small object from sats instead of warships into Indian waters

US has the best satellites in the world. Why do you think they are using ships and airplanes to search?

It's one thing to see something 'possible' from satellite; it's another to go take a close look.

On topic, this is a very disgraceful move by India. Almost as bad as Thailand holding back radar data for 10 days and saying 'no one asked us'.

There are 150 Chinese civilians involved and this would have been a good gesture from India to allow Chinese ships.

.
The entire chain of A&N islands has been searched and cleared by the ANC along with India's SEZ around the islands, all this done by the Indian navy and airforce. What are the Chinese thinking they can add?

I'm sorry but this is dubious on the part of the Chinese to say the least, the A&N islands are a highly sensitive location for India with a strong military presence and for the Chinese to expect India to open their waters to them is pretty foolish to say the least.

Will Pakistan allow the IN warships to enter Pakistani waters to search for Indian fishermen lost at sea? Will China allow the IN to enter Chinese waters for providing humanitarian aid to Vietnam?

Let's not get all emotional. The IN has enough assets to carry out SAR on its own, as per requests. The Chinese could as well have requested the IN to join the search as required by sharing information, which it did not.

While, we do wholly sympathise with the Chinese and are ready to help with the SAR, it will be with our assets and resources in our backyard.

really? you are searching for it? thats nice of you

India's apprehensions are valid .
what 4 Chinese warships are going to add after extensive search by Indian Navy ?

China can assist in search in pacific ocean off Australia coast from where the lastest satellites imagery is leading

why Andaman sea ???

Please, if it was okay for your government to deny Indian helicopters flown by Indian pilots to assist your people after the 2005 Earthquake citing security concerns then it is perfectly legitimate for India to deny this when there is a precedent for PLAN SIGNIT vessels disguised as fishing trawlers to enter close to India. Especially considering these waters have already been searched BY INDIAN FORCES, the most up to date info has all but ruled out the A&N islands as being the location of the plane and these islands are known to be home to a hugely sensitive Indian military presence. The Chinese are simply taking the pi$$....
