Another delusional idiot!Leave him alone!
They certainly provided money. Most of the blood was spilled by us and the Russians.
Dont mind him. he was obviously trolling. Everybody knows the role played by the Royal Navy and our military during the war. its not something we should seek approval/debate on anymore. Only insecure countries will do that. We dont need to prove ourself to anybody, we passed that stage long agoIt was a team effort.
The UK still remains one of the important global centers for financial activities.
Finance is actually an 'ancillary industry' to support manufacturing and production. If you have only financial services you lose prestige. In anyway local banking in major economies like China and India are rising so England won't retain a hold there for long. It'll be equal to Liechtenstein soon.
Finance and industrial production go hand in hand Sir.
They do go if both work together in an economy, only finance don't work. Especially if local financing is rising.
And it is not essential for both to be within the same country or even geographical region.
No but the problem in the past was that Britain could be a good financing partner for countries where local financing was very weak. Now that is changing Britain's money is not that well sought out. Besides, you cannot be a 'great power' only by being a great banker.
London remains a major financial center.
Make a note on this- the biggest restructuring effort in world finance is the BRICS Bank that China is trying to spearhead with other countries including India. 20 years ago I don't think CHina would have been able to make such attempt. But as of 21st century China is able to try something that Britain cannot think of doing. This should give you an idea of how the centre of gravity has been in a flux. London can continue to be a centre of finance just like Switzerland has been. But that won't indicate any real political power that Britain wants.
