Sure there are tactical interests that converge between Russia and China like that you are alluding to but it would be mistake to think that they are strategic in nature.

Russia still maintains relations with its historical allies like India & Vietnam in spite of both of them having troubled relations with China.

Russia is still concerned about Chinese foray into Siberia, Mongolia and Central Asia.

Chinese would first squat and later claim the land using some historical map.
