China-Sri Lanka Cooperation: News & Discussions

When sandwiched between 2 military super powers, one cannot be picky. The biggest mistake was to separate from China which is now the most important economic pillar.
Do you think Mongolia will be part of CHina again?

The uncouth Outer Mongolian shall count themselves lucky PLA never enter to cleanse them out when they support anti-Chinese neo nazi movement and assault Chinese citizen in Mongolia.

Do you think Mongolia will be part of CHina again?
Most Outer Mongolian are brainwashed by western and old Russian propaganda of evil Chinese. So by asking this question is unfair and irrelevant. Chinese government are slowly changing that by supporting activities that bring out the best of Chinese alliance. If you ask those Outer Mongolia who been to inner Mongolia and been to China. They will have a much positive view of China and think CCP is a great leadership to lead a country towards advancement and progression.

Contrary to what certain Indians say China is far from the source of Sri Lanka's debt problems. Sri Lanka only owes 8 Billion USD to China and these loans can be repaid. China has already agreed to invest in several debt fueled projects that failed and revive them.
Large amount of the debt problems are from the mismanaged government institutions not from development projects

As Beast have said it, it's irrelevant. All i can say is that the Mongolians in Inner Mongolia enjoy a better life and wealth than those living in Outer Mongolia. It's up to the people in Outer Mongolia so yeah the impact of the choice their ancestors made is affecting them profoundly in today's world.

That's just it. SL is independent sovereign nation. If they want to build airports why are Indians so happy to step in saying it's bad for them, :blah::blah:
Its because some Indians are still sympathetic towards them.

If our Indian friends are willing and able to offer Sri Lanka a better deal, just do it.

Otherwise, shut up.

Geez, that will surely deprive them of their strongest point
It is a tall order to ask for their compromise

India is a small fry that cannot match China. Bragging about helping Mongolia with a pathetic USD 1 billion loan which ends up not a single cent send. Mongolia in the end has succumbed to Chinese power and obey us. :enjoy:

Modi just make a fool of himself and show what really India power is

No credibility loss here for india and the world should have known very well by now the famous Aesop's fable "The Boy who Cried Wolf" which can easily be applied to that country

The other thing is back then the corporate mainstream media in unison blamed China post the fall of Rajapaksa. At that time the MSM in chorus kept on running stories for some extended period that China colluded with the corrupt regime in Sri Lanka bankrupted that island nation with the excessive loans, uneconomical projects, bribes, marked-up costs and so on. All the bad things with nothing good :-) That's what I read from the local media tugged the MSM line plus the MSM online sources as well. It's very hard for outsiders living far away to know the real situation within the domestic SL.

Now I learn some realities with threads like this.

In fact the relationships between SL - CN and SL - IN are not necessarily becoming mutually exclusive. Sri Lanka can have a close relationship with China while remains be a close and good neighbor to India. I just don't think it's a mutually exclusive choice.

The title of the article should be "China" instead of "CCP".

After all Song Tao is a minister of China.

Regardless of the title, it's good news for Sri Lanka.

Hope to see lots of progress in Sri Lanka, especially Hambantota Port area.

This article's title gives an impression that this is a PARTY TO PARTY deal instead of G-to-G!

A GOOD READ! And funny too :-)

Let say that India could afford to loan out the $1,000,000,000 - $2,000,000,000 to Mongolia, that amount itself won't be adequate to solve the dire problems of Mongolia. And India is not on Mongolia's border, how can India help the sandwiched Mongolia solve its logistic and goods inflow & outflow problems?

Those Khan descendants in charge at Ulaanbaatar were really living under illusion at some point of time. Hopefully now they really repent themselves and regain their clear vision about who really can help and who can merely talk. And try at best to be a good neighbor at least.

I will advise them to look at the map anytime they are confused!

There are lots of places located around the island for the tourists to visit. It all depends upon the taste of the visitors. Mainly Southern & Eastern beaches, National forests and heritage sites gets the most attention. Also there are some off the beaten path adventures if one craves for it.

It's a great news to hear. Sri Lanka should focus more on the lucrative Chinese market to attract more tourist rather than sticking with the traditional Western tourists.
