Millions of pak centric articles like this one if not overtly suggesting most of the time aims at sublime propaganda to make the manufacture aware of their "blunders" for providing Pakistan with cutting edge defence technique. So yeah these must be countered with "arms for global partnership for peace" kinda stuff by Pakistanis

Yeah, we shouldn't be too much happy after reading such articles and somehow try to counter the propaganda while keeping the positive marketing intact. Difficult task!

Just an FYI ...
A Bogie = a military aircraft of unknown origin i.e. unknown IFF status ... also referred to a radar error/blip
A Bandit = an enemy military aircraft of known origin

The correct term in your context would be bandit.

I'd take the publicity, good or bad, at least someone out there seems to take a little time and energy out to care.

IMHO ... the only way something doesn't exist to you is if (1) you really hate it or (2) absolutely don't care for it. With the National Interest, the JF-17 is bringing itself closer to the middle, i.e., gaining importance.

The flip side is that the impression created by the bad publicity has almost always landed us in the hot waters. Our current dynamics of F-16's deployment and use is an outcome of such publicity. The US Congress had the condition imposed that US observers would be stationed at Pakistani airbases as they suspected Pakistan could share the technology with the Chinese. Needless to say; it was us Pakistanis always blabbering about copy-pasting US tech with Chinese help that created this suspicion (or, at least, that's one of the reasons). We should be clear in communicating that it was the experience and as the article says "design cues" from the F-16 and its capability; and not the nitty-gritty of technology that helped design the JF-17.

Having said the above, wonder how much of IAI's Lavi went into JF-17?

To be honest Mig has nothing to do with planes.
Its Design follows more closely Proven US platforms rather than any Russian.
PAF kept design simple and modern.
