China recruits MMA fighters for border force

India goes on a shopping spree buying more Su30s, Mig29s etc and we are to believe it was all preplanned and not related to the recent stand off.

China hires MMA trainers for its armed forces and all of a sudden it "speaks volume on why such a need has arisen" o_O
So chinese will fight Su-30s with MMA fighters !!! If you cant even speak while keeping two separate domains in mind, you are not worth conversing.

How would you rate your chances in a fight where you are bare handed vs spiked rods. Think before you barf.

If Chinese came with weapons, then how have their hand to hand fighting skills been exposed as your fellow countryman (to whom I was replying) was claiming?

And if its believable to you that India is on a shopping spree which is not a rushed purchase related to the stand off with China, why does it "speak volume" when chinese hire trainers to improve hand to hand combat skills of their pilots?

China recruits MMA fighters for Tibet border militia
  • Mixed martial arts exponents to form Plateau Resistance Tibetan Mastiffs squad to help train troops in hand-to-hand combat
  • Announcement comes after deadly skirmish in Himalayas between Indian and Chinese soldiers

China has enlisted a squad of mixed martial arts fighters into its border militia ranks, according to state media.

The 20 MMA fighters were from the Enbo Fight Club in Sichuan province in the country’s southwest and would form the Plateau Resistance Tibetan Mastiffs to be based in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet autonomous region, state broadcaster CCTV reported on June 20.

The club is known for producing fighters who go on to compete in international tournaments such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the United States.

The announcement came after the deadliest clashes in decades between Chinese and Indian troops along the two countries’ contested Himalayan border.

Soldiers from both countries reportedly engaged in hours of hand-to-hand combat, with at least 20 Indian soldiers killed. China has not released the number of casualties on its side.

It was not clear if the Tibetan Mastiffs would be deployed to the border with India but their main mission would be to help border patrol troops and special forces in hand-to-hand combat training, according to a Tencent News report.

“If the country needs us, the Enbo Fight Club will wholeheartedly complete more challenging tasks. As for whether [our fighters] took part in the conflict a few days ago, don’t ask me, I didn’t ask,” club owner En Bo was quoted as saying.

Other militia recruits included civilian personnel specialising in communications technology, mountaineering and mining, the official military newspaper, The PLA Daily, reported. They will come under the People’s Liberation Army’s Western Theatre Command.

There has been much debate in China over the virtues of the hybrid fighting style of mixed martial arts and the traditional Chinese kung fu approach to combat.

Xu Xiaodong, a prominent MMA fighter, has been at the centre of the debate, gaining attention for beating a tai chi master in 20 seconds in 2017. Xu claimed he was “China’s number one in cracking down on fakes”, referring to people who exaggerated the qualities of traditional Chinese kung fu for commercial gain.

But Xu has since disappeared from the Chinese internet, censored for his controversial antics and his initial favourable view of anti-government protests in Hong Kong last year.

What's the source of your information?

You were expecting a tea party welcome? just like Abhinondone received?
The day Kashmiris got opportunity, they probably eat you without roasting!

Clearly their narrative to save face, any sane army would have carried protective gears and weapon amid recent tension unless they are insane.
So you using barbaric weapons because you cant respect mutual border agreements has to be reciprocated by us.

The accepted global narrative is quite clear. I have read a good spectrum of media and the consensus is India came out the loser in this tussle with China leaving the later emboldened and aggressive. Nothing is going to stop dragon from being the hyperpower it always was in history. USA and Western Europe were just a fleeting abberration having spent most of history in obscurity with former not even existing. What we are seeing is the world order being re-set to the default position. Which was China as the hyperpower.

Interesting thing is the power disparity between China and India is about the same between India and Pakistan. China is vastly stronger, militarily, economically then India despite having same population as the later. Gangadeshh's aspires to defeat Pakistan. China aspires to knock USA from the perch.

India can onl;y aspire to defeat and brag when faced with a enemy nearly seven times less population. When the odds are 1:1 as with China it is time to run and jump from the cliffs.

Fake Chinese martial arts getting exposed...Tai Chi, Kung Fu etc are nothing but choreographed dance performances...and CCP couldn't digest that their traditional so called martial arts is nothing but hot air...So they had to ban this Xu guy...this exposes the lies and deception on which CCP policies is based on...

There're hundred different types of marital arts in China. Some are non-combative type like Tai Chi, some are fake martial arts, yes. But not everyone is fake. In eastern school, there's a routine called Kata or Taolu, which looks a choreograph (what you see in movies) Then there's a separate competitive form.

Kata/Taolu

Competition

Kung Fu means hard work, it's no a martial arts itself.

MMA is also not a martial arts, it's a combination of all types of marital arts into one. Striking, grappling, wrestling....

In terms of relative sizes, the Chinese economy and military is about 6× more powerful than india's. Looking at relative comparisons and not considering the 7x bigger population, india has by comparison, a military and economy that is 1.37× bigger than that of Pakistan. That is way below the value needed for india to be able to defeat the Pakistan militarily. So in relative terms, the gap between China and india is 4.3× the gap between Pakistan and india. Which is why there is a good chance Pakistan could defeat india in a war wheras it is virtually impossible for india to do so against China.
