Too many people are talking about reliable and tested platforms, like the Rafale in Libya which is a good joke, since that was nothing more than testing it in France with electronic markers instead of Libyan Flacks that couldn't reach its altitude anyway.
The same goes for major American weapon systems used in Iraq and Afghanistan, it was nothing more for them than let's say training in the Nevada desert.
Short of a real war like WW2 where major weapon systems that had to be improved and adjusted hundreds of times to the conditions of war, I personally do not believe that any recent weapon system is really battle proven.
One can provide the case of the Usraeli F-16s and F-15s against the Syrian and Egyptian Migs, but that still has more to do with intelligence than the platforms. When the Egyptians got live satellite intelligence about the Usraeli jets they started to shoot them down like ducks, and the Syrians did good too, although at a lesser rate than the Egyptians due to some well known facts as restraint caused by the proximity and the US hand.
