China Pledges Support for Taliban in Afghanistan, while Taliban Assured China They Would Not Support ETIM Terrorist !

.
Ironic how China calls ETIM "terrorists" when they're basically Chinese Taliban.

The Taliban might not support ETIM but they'll never kick the Uyghurs that reside within Afghanistan. And this is just the initial talks. There will always be elements within the Taliban who'll support ETIM and other jihadists who want to free East Turkestan from Chinese oppression.
what a bunch of bs. it seems like you have no idea who the Taliban are.

. .
And you do??
I would guess that yes, he does. The Taliban are not that hard to figure out once you examine them for a little while. They are simply a coalition of Pashtun warlords attempting to unify an ungovernable country under a homogenous Salafist identity. They're ultimately going to fail as everyone before them has failed, but that's neither here nor there.

What's going to happen to the Taliban is the same thing that happens to every victorious coalition: Once the common enemy is gone, it will start to splinter. To be sure, there might be some faction that wants to mess with China, but that faction will swiftly be dealt with by the others who don't want China - their one chance at maintaining some semblance of an economy - to turn against them. A nice bonus, of course, will be that the other factions will gain the territory and spoils of the anti-China renegade.

That's if things even get that far. China has mastered the art of dealing with unstable countries, and the first rule is to be on good terms with everybody. China is good with the Taliban, it's good with Pakistan, it's good with the remnants of the Afghan government. Nobody wants to mess with China because that will weaken their position relative to the others who are in China's good graces. It's how China can be friendly with Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Israel simultaneously.

By the way, calling ETIM the "Chinese Taliban" is very inaccurate. There is no longer an ETIM presence in China, the counter-terrorism program in Xinjiang has seen to that. ETIM exists among exiled Uighurs in places like Syria and Turkey. Their capacity to even annoy China is nonexistent. Wrt Afghanistan, China is more concerned about the security of its Central Asian neighbours and Pakistan since the Taliban victory will have a rallying effect on terrorist groups like TTP.

The Taliban succeeds in unifying the country because they there are nowhere as corrupt and tyrannical as the warlords they replace. Mullah Omar, the founder of the group created the Taliban because the people was sick of the local warlords raping local boys. Also, this practice of "boy play" is still ongoing in the now deposed afghan gov and the warlords that are allied with them. The Taliban has popular support because no one wants to be on the same side as pedo rapists.

The Taliban is very much an ethnic nationalistic outfit. They will need China's support in getting international recognition and stabilizing the economy while they work to kick out the remaining warlords still controlling parts of the country.
