I am quite well versed in military history, as opposed to pre history etc. In the West also we gained considerable amount of territory.
Your armed forces fought gallantly no doubt. But with the Eastern Front gone, your beleaguered forces could not have been able to hold out for much longer. But occupying WP was not the plan. In fact that would have been suicidal.
We did make a mistake, true - of not evicting PA from all of JnK and not forcing Pakistan to recognize the Indian position on JnK as final. But that was on the political front.
Also don't blame the incompetence on alcohol consumption among the Pak Army brass. It was a general custom within the Indian armed forces as well. Moderation and discipline is or rather should be intrinsic to military order. That was what was in short supply.
