Exactly! Instead of the anti India paranoia which prompts you guys to spend scarce money on nukes, which will never be used, and billions of dollars worth of weapons ranged against India, it would be a win win situation to sue for peace and tranquility so that you could spend more money on improving your economy and the standard of living of the millions who are still below the poverty line.
But that's not going to happen any time soon! Would the extremists and the dozens of terror groups allow you to do that? No! They have a vested interest in keeping the pot boiling.
The security situation that has resulted in turmoil has prevented investment in industry, tourism and infrastructure. Money is scarce. Unless the security situation improves, investments will be hard to come by. For that the Pakistan Establishment needs to stop playing around with groups inimical to Pakistan's interests in the long run.
So, it's going to be more of the same where Pakistan is concerned. India being a far bigger economy, can withstand these pinpricks, but Pakistan can't and therefore would continue to teeter on the edge. Until of course there is a paradigm shift in its anti India policies and the proxy war it is waging against it where millions of dollars are being spent.
It has been calculated that trade between Pakistan and India can reach heady levels - $20 billion and more within 5 years if there is peace between us. But then, unfortunately, vested interests especially your defence establishment, will never let that happen. They will continue with the 'Indian bogeyman' syndrome. But then, you know who's losing out in the long run.
Chinese can say the same $hit about India too.
Please do not cr@p in this thread
The idea is to make sure Pakistani posters realize the economic issues and then perhaps figure out what to do about it.
By putting numbers from China, India, Turkey, South Korea etc. in the OP was meant to provide overall view and not start the usual Indo-Pak "my $hitck is bigger than yours".
So please do not mess up the thread.
Thank you.

What's common between Pakistani Liberals and Pakistani Islamists?
I would like to believe
nothing .. .
Perhaps we need to update the "belief system" then.
Pakistani liberals and Islamists both share their
--- absolute love of socialism (Ok Islamist tend to go with Hazrat Umer rah / Karl Marx)
--- absolute hate for the anything USA
Thus the two work as a tuning fork in the society, where each passing minute increases the destructive anti-global, anti industry, pro-anarchy mad yelling.
What you see in Pakistani North West right now may look like Islamist burning down the state of Pakistan
But you and many others fail to see
the fuel for this fire comes from our leftist liberals aka socialists.
The socialist lies and Islamists lies are so deeply entrenched that now people reproduce them on TV and news media as if these are the divine truths.
And hence we remain in the deep shit aka economic morass.
hope this helps.
