Chinese Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Sun WeiDong addressed the first Sangam Club Gala earlier today at Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, during his address he highlighted many aspects of Pakistan China friendship and current heights of this friendships, he was very positive about the future of both countries and urged more and more people to people contacts between the two brotherly nations.

Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Zhao Lijian welcomed all the guests earlier in start of ceremony.

Pakistan Invites Chinese Universities To Open Campuses In Pakistan

In meeting with Chinese delegation headed by Mr. Sun Xiaobing Director General of Department of Policies and Regulations China, he said the students and teachers exchange programs and cooperation in research and science would be mutually beneficial for both the countries.

The delegation was an investigating group of education policy on “One Belt one Road” by Ministry of Education China, said a press release here. The purpose of the visit was to facilitate the implementation of “The Education Action of Promoting Co construction of One Belt One Road”.

CPEC and INDIA

(These versions are based on multiple websites and different newspaper stories; I am not necessarily agreed or opposed these versions)

India have some doubts about CPEC and probably not precisely welcome this project, Prime Minister of India Mr. Modi articulated his deep concerns about this project to Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping. Furthermore, India also tried to counter CPEC with the development of Chahbahar Port in Iran, which is 100 kilometer far from Gwadar Port. India also wants to bypass Pakistani Route through Chahbahar for its assistance to Afghanistan[4]. Chahbahar Port open doors to India for strong access of Afghanistan, specifically the cities of Herat, Mazar Sharif, Kabul and this route will be less reliant on Pakistan for Indian trade and products. There is a positive note also need to know about CPEC by Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan that “India has no worry over the construction of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor as an economically strong Pakistan would bring stability in the region”[5].


In reality, for Indian Governments the project of CPEC have double predicament, the rising reality of China throughout the world induces India to support multiple road connectivity sections such as East Asia and Central Asia, China with Myanmar, Bangladesh with India by means of Southern Silk Road. On the other side of picture India is not happy and could not trounce it major abomination towards Pakistan by disparaging and objecting the CPEC. While India also notes that there are many opportunities for India also lying in the CPEC and significantly in the OBOR. If complete sanctions over Iran will lifted the IRAN-PAKISTAN-INDIA (IPI) project of gas will also perk up. It is a reality that economy of China is 5 times bigger than India with higher growth rate and surely India will need not less than fifty years to catch Chinese economy. So Indian will also need to loosen up the terms with China strategic boom and also need to engage vigorously with China in OBOR.[6]


CPEC AND IRAN

Iranian President Mr. Rouhani visited Pakistan and in a meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Sharif, stated the great desire to be a part of CPEC. Mr. Rouhani praised both China and Pakistan leaderships to taking steps for and translated the China Pakistan Economic Corridor into realism. Furthermore, Mr. Rouhani also considers this more productive for both China and Pakistan and communicating the Iranian Version to this context of CPEC, His Excellency expressed that economic development projects are same as Iran’s own development. Many other bilateral chances are discussed for both Iran and Pakistan in the field of oil, gas and electricity. Mr. Rouhani also denoted that there should be more joint cooperation required in the field of defense between Pakistan and Iran and Iran considered that Pakistan’s security is security of Iran[7].


CPEC AND RUSSIA

From some years, Russia has cordial attitude towards Pakistan. The main cause is the relations of Pakistan and the United States as the United States seems to be turning away from Pakistan, so Russian is getting closer to Pakistan, due to its strategically location and position in the region. As China has a big dream regarding CPEC, not only a venture to its economy boost, this also works for those checks which are very important to hold the United States in the Pacific. Pakistan and its Port city of Gwadar are very valuable not only for China but also other regional states. Russian dream is also Pakistan reliant, due to its geographic presence. Now, because CPEC and its geographical importance, Russia also warming to Pakistan. For the past some years, Pakistan is start turning its direction from the United States towards Russia and also broaden its base of diplomacy. Pakistan, also trying to reduce the reliance from the United States and perking up its relations with its neighbors, so in the shape of CPEC, Pakistan has becoming a better bargaining position in the region. Related to this Pakistan inked many deals with Russia such as Combat Helicopters, Fighter’s engines which are jointly building with China and also Rostek Corporation of Russia is going to build 1100 kilometers long gas pipeline to Pakistan in coming year[8].

Phase 2 #Havalian to #Thakot 120 km Motorway under Construction
The expressway will then course northwards along the N-35 National Highway towards #Abbottabad, #Mansehra, and #Shinkiari, ending at Thakot
Havelian-Thakot section of the expressway in Mansehra was inaugurated on April 28, 2016. It will be completed 2018-2019
