Another lesson for those who keep crying economy first specially those in Indonesia @Indos @madokafc

yes, economy first, while not forgetting about defence... to be honest, look at Pakistan now, without CPEC, Pakistan foreign investment is historically low and in an indirect way, i am saying that Pakistan is even more dependent on China than before, do you think that this is good for your country's long term perspective?

i support CPEC to give Pakistani people more economic prosperity, and also to have a check and balance of India's power in South Asia.. but its not a free lunch

.
The massive trade with China is enough for compensation for loss islets.

.
I'm ethnic Chinese born in Malaysia, so I'm Malaysian.
Therefore I'm not Malay. Malay is largest ethnic group in Malaysia as stated above by other member.

It will be difficult for China to make harsh thing to Malaysia or even Indonesia. We can shut the economic relation between ASEAN and China if it is the case. And if it is really the case, I believe Indonesia will prosper more as more ASEAN members buy our products instead of from China. Japan will happy too, it is only Indonesia who still has Japan as its biggest trade partner, other ASEAN members has already made China as their biggest partner.

As Indonesian, I doubt that we will have any future conflict with China though. We are under a very good strategy in term of defense. Furthermore, our currency is in fragile moment Today, so too many import is not good.

Don't worry, Pakistan has nuclear weapons. Inida can do nothing as it did in 1960's, 1970's. They have no security issues so far, Taliban is their serious threatens.
China's economic expnsion isn't in one direction, we have the ability to cooperate with the whole world at the same time.

The essential difficulty Indonesian meet is strategy. As I know, Indonesia is comfused at this issue. Islam is a caste society, they have rankings: the top is Arabic, second is Egpty, Turkey and Pakistan, other muslims are considered as degrading. Indonesian have rights pilgrimage in Mecca, you have no rights impact Islam even Indonesia is stronger than most middle east countries. While joining or integrating in Asean is impossible, other Asean are Buddhism countries. Standing with the Europe is more difficult, EU is much stongers than Indonesia.

Firstly, you need to know that Egypt is an Arab country too. Secondly, we dont have any caste at all, but it is true that we put prophet Muhammad descent in a honorable position, but you need to know that even in Indonesia we have many prophet Muhammad blood from recent Arab coming (Hadramaut/ the place where most prophet descent is found) and also from previous coming ( that has already been considered as 100 % native). But in essence, the best Muslim is seen from their behavior not from their blood.

In Islam politics, every thing is possible, of course you know about Ottoman empire right ......? For many centuries, Muslim world is under Ottoman rule which is lead by Turkish, not Arab. Right now, we are leaning more toward our traditional ally in the Muslim world. It is true, some defense cooperation has already materialized with Iran (radar) and Turkish (medium tank). We also have strategic defense cooperation with Saudi and Pakistan which were signed last year during previous leadership.

This is I give you a good fact that Muslim doesnt have something like "caste system." In the old time, one pure Indonesian has become Imam in Masjidil Haram, (Saudi Arabia)

Shaikh Ahmad Khatib al-Minangkabawi (1860 – 1916) was a Minangkabau Indonesian Islamic teacher. He was born in Koto Tuo, Ampek Angkek, Agam Regency, West Sumatra on 6 Dzulhijjah 1276 H (1860 M) and died in Mecca on 8 Jumadil Awal 1334 H (1916 M).[1] He served as the head (imam) of the Shafi'i school of law at the mosque of Mecca (Masjid al-Haram). Many Indonesian Islamic reformist leaders learned from him, including Ahmad Dahlan, as founder Muhammadiyah and Hasyim Asyari, as founderNahdlatul Ulama.[2]

Although Ahmad Khatib was an orthodox Sunni Muslim, he still hoped to reconcile the matrilineal system in Minangkabau with the laws of inheritance prescribed in the Quran. Through his Minangkabau students who studied in Mecca and well as those he taught in Indonesia, he encouraged a modified Minangkabau culture based on al-Quran and the Sunnah.

His son, Sheikh Abdulhameed Alkhateeb, was the first Saudi Arabian ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. And his grand son, Fouad Abdulhameed Alkhateeb, was a Saudi Arabian ambassador, humanitarian, author, and businessman. In his capacity as a diplomat, he represented his homeland in Pakistan, Iraq, the United States of America, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Turkey, the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Nepal, and finally as Saudi ambassador to Malaysia.
