I am a Swedish-Chinese-Australian-American and as i can only put 2 flags here i choose sweden flag because my wife and i born in America.

For some reason i hold or held 5 passports and i am studying in Australia at the moment. If i decided to settle back in Australia, i will probably change the flag....

I am aware of that, having said that. Australian job market is deeply based on "links", its about who you know not what you know, contrary to the US melting pot of 70s-80s-and 90s. When you pay a 100 grand of your parents hard earned cash, invest 4 years of your precious time and then find out that there is a good possibility that in some quarters they will offer you work according to your name, its pretty damn saddening.

Just, find out the demographic balance of Western Australia's multi billion dollar mining industry [The engine of growth for Australian economy]. It speaks for itself. Here you get work after graduation IF you have work experience during studies - You get work experience through industry placement and vacation work-- to get vacation work you need to be an Australian resident [Which again is different for people with non English background].

And work experience/industrial training(anywhere from 3 months -12 months) is a requirement for most degrees. If you are worth your salt you ll get a job very easily. Migrants should stop hiding their incompetence behind this old excuse of evil whiteys not giving the ethnic migrants a fair go. That is simply not true.

And mining industry is a poor example. The reason why there aren't many ethnic migrants in Western Australia or Queensland mining industry is because not many migrants want to leave the cosy set up of cities like Sydney and Melbourne and go work in the whoop whoop areas like Pilbara or Kalgoorlie. I am in the mining industry and almost all the international students who did mining engineering with me decided to to take up office jobs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and hardly anyone was willing to go work on a mine site, even when they had better paid job offers from there!

You d still be surprised to see how diverse the mining workforce is. Yes you won't find many Chinese or Indians or Pakistanis, but plenty of Iranians, Turks, South Americans, Germans, Canadians and Italians do work in the mining industry.

I was born in the US and my father is a Chicano, and my mum is a Vietnam-Chinese got a permanent protection visa to Australia during the 1979 Chinese invasion of Vietnam. when she got the Oz Citizenship later i got it too as i was a dependent. Then i married to a Swedish woman from Dalarna and moved to Sweden for 5 years getting their stupid citizenship....

For some reason i have a British passport for British Territories Citizen (Not a British National Oversea, as i did not born in HK) and i can convert it to a full British passport but i reckon i already have the Swedish passport which give me the right to live and work in Britain why bother going for it, it will just waste money for it.

Now, my plan is to stick it up Julia Arse and used up all the quota i got from FEE-HELP and ditch australia once i finish my master degree. So that i don't need to pay the money back

Well, you look at the data differently, there will not be any more Australian going to China for Uni, rather the other way around as we need the Chinese money. From then to now, only Aussies who studying Chinese History or the Language of China will decided to exchange or actually finish their study in China, but Chinese Student are everywhere in every campus from Engineering to Accounting to Hospitality.

So yeah, China are losing money over this as Chinese Student will be easier to finish their degree in Australia and with ever-growing tuition fee....

Multi-national is allowed in Australia after 2002, United States, Sweden (from 2001) and Hong Kong, as long as i don't run for office in Hong Kong, Sweden, US and Australia, i do not need to give up my other passport.

Chinese Hong Kong is a grey area case, as there are no Hong Kong Citizenship (Yet there are passport) and Hong Kong Citizenship are follow Chinese Citizenship rule, which do NOT allow dual citizenship. However, different than that in mainland china, you will not be asked if you left Hong Kong for extented period of time and once you have a permanent visa stick to your CHinese passport, you do not need to notified the Chinese Authority. So basically Hong Kong allow dual citizenship as long as you do not run for public serivces.

Many Australian actors have hold dual Australian And US Citizenship or Australian and Britain Citizenship, for example, Nicole Kidman, Mel Gibson, Simon Baker have both US and Australian Citizenship. Many people i know hold Australian and UK citizenship.

The Chinese student is one of the Major import to Aus education system, estimated therde are 200000 Chinese student in a 23 Millions population, drop from about 350000 from before 2010 where the free permanent visa give out has ceased.

I, prefer debates based on arguments - as for experience..well i have spend a lot of time in a lot of different/weird places. I have my opinions and love to meet people who could alter or change them through logic and facts.

Well, i was gonna put the AU Flag up, but when my wife sees it she yell at me (är du svenska??), so because of the next month's meal, i have to put up a Swedish Flag.............

Plus i will probably move back to Sweden after this year after i finish my Master in Sydney.

well, Lund is not nearly as cold as Dalarna, it's cold but still ok, last time i was up in Dalarna, my ball was frozen........Still that's only the middle part of Sweden tho, can't imagine the northern Sweden......They claim to be -37C whole day in Winter....
