What's new

China, not America, likely behind Hafiz Saeed's house arrest

That is ridiculous comparison, Syed. That is like saying 'hey look at that other US vassal, Haiti'?

Pakistan is certainly not Haiti, but its parallels with North Korea are demonstrably present, based on evidence. But we can agree to disagree on this point, since any more candor from me may not be appreciated by PDF. :D

What's the difference?....just one of your master
What are you on about? How did you free yourself from your 'master' mr untouchable. You would know what master and slave means right? You live it for real every day.
With 25% of his Dalit people living dispicable lives lower than a dog's life in Pakistan - has galls to talk about 'master'.

Its funny how you H!ndians appear on our forums and rant about this nonsense. While most of the time, it is you lot who is found defending, praising and licking everything of these countries e.g. US/Russia/Israel.

I disagree with you. I never support any type of censoring. I am confident in my argumant that it will stand up againsat any scrutiny. Only those with weak argument seek refuge in censor. I don't have time but please do show how N. Korea ans Pak can even be placed in same league. I am amazed at that suggestion.

What's the difference?
Here Dalit, I leave my parting shot for you. Watch this and discuss the philosopocal meaning of Hinduism, rights of man, equality and slave/master dynamics. Then when done we will have a chat about 'maser'. And I strongly suggest others to watcvh this as well and find out what 'largest democracy' means in reality. You won't need to worry about North Korea because that place will look like haven of equality by comnparison.

I respect your differing views. Just think like China and see how you could deal with Japan and South Korea on one side and India on the other, without engaging directly with either of them that could affect your own trade?

I think, you people are reading too much from this incident...its nothing new. Pakistan knows how to play with world powers and deflects their pressure and focal point. Remember, we have once break all relationship with Taliban regime right after 9/11...so what, does it means we surrender all our interests altogether.

The fundamental will never change as far as Pakistan core interests are concerned, weather we would be influenced by USA, USSR, China or even Martians.

This, here!

This move has all the signatures of Pakistan's own tried-and-tested MO, whereby they arrested a couple of inconsequential AQ leaders just before a fund collection charm-offensive in the Capitol Hill - a throwback to Musharraf's era. Only this is intended to get in the good books of Trump's administration and also to remind him of their role in so-called WOT.

If the Chinese were indeed the ones behind this move (unlikely), they must be the biggest chumps after how they fought tooth and nail to cockblock the resolution against HS and his organization - only to have him re-arrested.

words like "probably / likely / maybe" are being extensively used (with attached mumbo jumbo) to make up for diplomatic goof ups.
own it up and go about ur business

@Syed.Ali.Haider You were circumspect about Chinese/Pak relationship doing anything beyond laying miles of tarmac and concrete or singing 'Chin/Pak' love songs. Here is indications of how the worlds largest uncompromising athiest society driven by business meets idealogical dogma that infests Pakistan. One will give way and we can see who steps back. As CPEC takes hold other angularities in Pakistan are going to have to be smoothened for CPEC to succeed and you know where the force for that will come.

I drew this conclusion long time ago when the unthinkable happened. The army was used to bulldoze Lal Masjid with the doyen of the Islamists in middle of it all. No leader in Pakistan would have had the dares or the foresight. Both of these deficits were provided by Chinese and you saw what happened. The thing with the Chinese is they don't anounence their policies from the podium in front of the world press. It's all done with quick call to where it matters. The COAS, the PM and few critical ministers. End off !!!

Or else no more CPEC, no more of those goodies for the military and no more Chinese shield in UN and world power centres against Indian/US lobbies.

As we move forward expect more. Slow but sure. That is the Chinese way. Unrelenting but step by step.

In the long run China cannot avoid public scrutiny. the world expects transparency

. . .
In general there is a expectation from the powerful that you can provide transparency in your actions, objectives and ideas
You mean like US invasion of Iraq. We saw transparency in actions, in words, in ideas and even evidence in test tubes in front of the world. All lies, lies and more lies.

Edit. I guess China does not have try that hard to match USA in transparency.

USA was crystal clear about everything except the rationale

There is little China is transparent about

. .
What are you on about? What was so crystal clear?

They were going to invade Iraq, depose Saddam, remove any WMD, establish democracy, not control Iraqi oil and eventually leave.

The WMD was not there. The Americans have complied with most of the objectives. The neo-cons who initiated the attack are in political wilderness.
