China, not America, likely behind Hafiz Saeed's house arrest

No bro, integrity of Chinese system is very rigid. There is no 'ex envoy' who toes own line anywhere like for India or Pak. I think it was china drastically changing it's stand on Pakistan as state sponsor of terror. Look how swiftly HS was put in jail thereafter.

wait for few days all the gaga gugu will disappear. There are are serious matters of literally "biblical" proportions going about in Islamabad these days which will have impact on the situation in middle east. The hafiz Saeed story has been given a twist by certain quarters to put in back burner those other developments which are quite serious in nature.

so you're supporting the alternative explanation that Trump called and, despite the enourmous pissing off that Chinese will have because you made them defend HS in the UN, you decided to arrest him

Oh so.....

Hafiz Saeed in house arrest is because of Pakistan's middle east policy and rising status as global super power....wonder how I missed that?

I know its hard to go through your thick skull that Hafiz Saeed was in danger from RAW goons in Afghanistan and he is in protective custody, and if you believe that we did this to Hafiz Saeed under trump admin pressure, then we have given them middle finger on the matter which is of utmost importance to them, and closer to home in America. Look at the bigger picture. Things will get clear.

protective custody
noun
  1. the detention of a person for their own protection.

Hafiz Saeed is insignificant, but what the enemies of Pakistan are trying by eliminating him is to humiliate the state of Pakistan. That is unacceptable.

He is our citizen, like him or hate him. There are Pakistani courts where even sitting Prime Minister is answerable these days about his past deeds. Feel free to hire a lawyer, bring fourth your arguments and proofs and law of the land will take its course.

This chutiya "MICHAEL KUGELMAN" is a d|ckhed. A Zionist scumbag who I remember was sitting with Indian lobby when Senator Mushid Hussain was in America delivering a speech and at the end some really hostile questions from the Indian rats were thrown at him.

Get a grip on yourself. Kugelman is one of the few western journalists still brave enough to report from the ground in Pakistan and is far from partisan; plenty of his articles paint Pakistani favourably. You can go through his previous articles published by Dawn - they would not feature him if he was so biased as you paint him out to be.

Ah good! Looks like something positive coming out of Chinese economic cooperation. Finally Pakistan has something to lose. The leash is closing in . :pop:

All his articles will point issues with Pakistan. This vermin should spend more time in finding issues with Israeli society like treatment of black Jews then wasting his energy in Pakistan's internal matters.

He mocked our great patriot Gen (rtd) Hameed Gul on his death as it was India independence day. This little swine is nothing but jealous Zionist who cant come to terms with the reality of Pakistan.

He specialises in Pakistan - so its no surprise his articles are about Pakistan.

I've read his articles and he's called into question Gul's policies - which do not seem to have benefited Pakistan much. Apart from his work as ISI chief - which Kugelman notes was a success by the standards of ISI - he mostly made several preposterous claims that nobody - whether US or Pakistani has corroborated (some of the more silly one - such as the one about US forces carrying Osama;s body from Afghanistan to Pakistani to stage a capture - has not been confirmed even by Gul's own pals - the taliban or Hafiz).

You are free to read his articles on Dawn - had he been as abusive as you are Dawn would have stopped his writing long ago.

Kugelman's analysis has been confirmed by nearly everybody who analyses South Asia. Here's a gem of an article.

Gul's policies benefitted Pakistan a lot, and we don't need an Indian to tell us what benefitted us and what didnt. Hamid Gul was a visionary and a man ahead of his time. He was the single handed destructer of USSR, a marvel of Pakistani generalship. I wish we had more Hamid Guls and today Kashmir would have been free.

Hafiz Saeed is under protective custody due to intel of his assassination plot.

Thankfully, you get it. This is also one of the reasons Dr. A Q Khan was placed under house arrest.

Gul's policies benefitted Pakistan a lot

How exactly? At best Gul's policies benefited the army in the short run while it enjoyed the US blank cheque. In the long run it institutionalised the use of violent means to further political goals - see the results today.

Nonetheless I invite you to describe what the benefits were. We can certainly analyse how accurate those are.

He was the single handed destructer of USSR

Stretching it a bit far, eh?

Gul was a conduit for american money to the mujahideen and he was highly cooperative in that role - but I'm sure Zia would have found someone else equally cooperative had the need arisen. If anyone Zia can claim some small role in encouraging and facilitating American intervention in Afghanistan - and the eventual Soviet stalemate there.

The USSR collapsed because their communist model of economy simply did not work in the long run. The problem was compounded by ridiculous defense expenditure and lack of transparency in accounting.

we don't need an Indian to tell us what benefitted us and what didnt

Would you prefer it if the Chinese told you instead? Or a white commentator?
