The problem is uncontrolled virus circulation. Omicron can be worse, more deadlier than delta as the number in the US shows it among unvaccinated population.

I was at Shanghai for a month and a half. Just returned back to Canada yesterday. Almost everyone around us at work had COVID, none of us who had gone from overseas caught COVID, our routine tests were constantly negative in the Health Code miniapp on Alipay. I think, this was going to happen either way, with probably the weather conditions being one of the reasons AND most of China probably has had their immunity reduced with being indoors for a while. Not saying these are concrete with rising numbers, but it could be one of the factors. And there was constant praise for the vaccines by MODERNA and Pfizer, not so much for the UK one. Most of my Chinese colleagues are not very happy with the Chinese vaccines that they had taken some time back.

Bro, Pfizer does not work against Omicron infection. It only works against severe complications. Stay abit longer, my 'overseas' colleague just caught it and had the same fever. Lolol. Btw Pfizer has 86% vs Sinopharm 80% severe prevention. One is 130$ and the other was 3$.

Here is a dose of reality, 12'000 Americans died on 11 Nov and 90'000 Americans have died from Covid since the much ridiculed Shanghai lockdown and 1'090'000 Americans have died since the also much ridiculed Wuhan lockdown in 2020. These are tested and reported cases, do you know how many were not reported? Btw, Chinese economy grew 3% on average every quarter in 2022. At the peak of the Shanghai lockdown which was draconian compared to the milder isolations now, less than 1% of China was under lockdown while 99% were open. The Chinese government is not stupid, we are adapting.

Is the Sino Vac not created on an MRNA protocol? If that is the case, it makes sense why such a high number is getting effected. Otherwise just a booster shot would've helped the masses.
