why don't Pakistan try to make its own

Thats probably some decades away. More than capability, its the funding that such a project would probably not receive. It's simpler to buy it.

Pakistan's next big funding would probably go to the Chinese J-XX project as it should.

In terms commercial technology, it is much more cost efficient to keep up with your competitors than to catch up. Hopefully, you guys can produce a passenger plane with Western turbofans as soon as possible. That would be a safe and inexpensive flight solution for the world.

commercial use, it was only a plan which was been used as the "leaders' special plan".The former prime minister Zhou Anlai wanted to aboard the plane which was developed by Chinese when he visited foreign countries.
----30 years ago, at the aviation and astrogation domain, Chinese had two ways to choose,one was develop big plane,the other way is send astronaut to space.We found that we were not good at developing big plane,so we chose the second way.
----We have enough ability to develop advanced jet engine by ourself.We have manufactured several kinds of modern engine,such as "TaiHang","KunLun" and so on.Some of them was used by J10 and FBC-1.
