The central govt of Myanmar is unable to control several autonomous states in northern Myanmar.

If the Bangladesh govt can connect to Kachin state in Myanmar through Assam state in India, the Chinese govt can solve the route problem in northern Myanmar.

I do not think china would want to connect via assam i suspect. From BD perspective it also poses significant strategic challenge.

BD I think would prefer an isolated NE India and wait for sanity in Burma.

For land, yes.

Transport of containers by river/sea is even cheaper than rail, but who knows about efficient?
