Who is going to pay for it? UN? No way! Saudi? I do not think so. UK? Germany? Nato? I do not think so either.

The worst to China is that we throw 6 billions into water. However, when war starts with Iran, I think US will throw billions into water every day.

The nukes are the main issue though the other items listed could inadvertantly lead to war. For Iran to posses nukes, supply and train terrorist organizations through the revolutionary guard and Quds forces, and use it's proxies to wage conflict. these are the recipes that will bring about war.

I salute you for having the guts to at least admit Iran's meddling in Iraq. Most Iranian nationalists deny, deny, deny. Aside from the nuke issue it isn't Iraq though that will drag the area into war. It is Iran's proxy Hezzbollah, and partner in the proxy war Syria. In the mean time, they plan to use sanctions to weaken Iran until the time the US finishes its two wars and regains its strength. The question is how long that will take. 5 years? 20 years?

Trade-freedom also is a freedom. Embargo destroy the trade freedom. Why does the USA really like to do that?

I couldn't have put it better myself. Don't interfere with China's freedom to trade and freedom to conduct business. It is not the US's place to command other nations' affairs. The US, as a nation found on freedom, should respect the freedom of nations other than itself.

It does not seem that US has gained much from wars involving a relative large country.

First, Korean war;

Second, Vietnam war;

Third, Iraq war; (1st and 2nd)

Fourth, war in Afghanistan.

For the 1st Iraq war, at least Saudi and Japan pay for a lot of the expense.

we just surpassed KSA in nominal terms (almost 500 billion dollars) and will become a trillion dollar economy by the end of 2020 (nominally).
we're almost on par with Turkey even though we have 4 rounds of UN sanctions and numerous American and Euro sanctions

well it's not very healthy when you look at the potential GDP growth of Iran. We could be having double digit growth but that won't come under the sanctions. That said, the economy is growing. If China invests in the gas and oil fields than there is a chance that Iran could really turn on the after burners after 2020. Our gas fields are virtually untapped and we have the second largest gas reserves on the planet so that's a lot of cash right there. It's a win-win situation. China can develop the gas fields and get what it wants out of it and Iran can use the profits to invest in the country and further increase the growth. The sanctions are actually helping Iran become self sufficient.
look at this pic. In 2000 Iran was producing 200K cars. Today 1.4 million. The figures for 2010 aren't out yet but we have surely went up by another place and taken out Canada. Mexico and France will be taken out in the next couple of years.
