I dont know how much your inform about Chinese navy they have overall more ships than America or any other country in the world . Already they are constructing two new aircraft carriers which are due to come in 2020 .Poor India & Vietnam are nothing . USA defense budget is 600 billion dollar & China is 200 billion dollar second in the world with 2.3 million solider they have started modernizing there forces . Until 2020 they would be the biggest & most strongest military might in the world after USA .

Dont be obsessed from USA technology & defense . America with this greatest military machine in the history of man kind is not able to defeat Talibans & Now ISIS . USA is using satellites to track each & every move of China . Chinese technology is improving every second day its mostly based on Russian technology which posses a greater threat to American combat jets ships submarines & aircraft carriers . In 2007 China tested a missile which shot down a satellite in the earth atmosphere imagine the accuracy & precision Chinese missile systems can have . Chinese naval destroyers are equipped with S-300 as a protective shield and they have JL-3 under water missile which has a range of 6000km which is a MIRV . There exists no technology in the world which can prevent such an attack . There Stealth technology is getting matured with J20 coming up and started to do mass production in next year along with drones like CH 5 which can directly compete with Predator . There are two countries with expertise in drone technology China has already leapfrog German & France in defense export . Chinese have problems with there turbo fans when it comes to engine technology Now European companies like Safran are helping Chinese defense . More than 1000 foreign companies have decided to work in China in the field of defense technology . There are many things which are kept secret China will show it to the west & America with time . I don't argue with you about which nation has more advanced weapons and who can defeat the other but I have a general observation that rate of Chinese advancement in technologies is mind boggling. It is another debate how they get it or from where they get it but the fact is that China has got almost everything in very very short time that uncle sam/west took decades and centuries to develop. Most of the devices in average American home are made in China. Thus though I think USA is still leading the world in most of weapon technologies but I would not write off China as serious contender and rather I would say China is getting closer and closer day by day. The gap is shrinking and in many areas, it is already even.

Do you know how many weapons are developed during an actual war? Take the World Wars for example, the development and production of weapons was unprecedented. And besides the Chinese Carrier Killer Missiles, their HGV Missiles are the biggest threat to all US assets, globally, both land based and sea based.

You've greatly underestimated the US naval and air strength the way Hitler underestimated Stalin's army. Hitler lost not because he didn't have qualified generals but because he had the habit of underestimating his enemies. Usually we see this kind of characters as villains in Hollywood movies. The villain shows overconfidence and tells the hero how he (the villain himself) can be defeated while declaring that the hero is so stupid that he can never do it.

Thus though I think USA is still leading the world in most of weapon technologies .

That's the point I'm making. I'm not saying that China is militarily weak but her navy is no match for the US navy, so it will be stupidity to pick a quarrel with the US at sea.
