your view is not right, we have lots of religious believers in China. hundreds of millions.

partially Chinese are not interested in Islam is because once you marry a Muslim girl or man, you have to be a Muslim as well. the living practice of Han Chinese and Muslim is very different, for example, Han Chinese like porks, Muslim can't have any of it.

Are the Chinese more negative to Islam or Christianity. I always believed Christianity is seen more negative due to history like the Taiping Rebellion, Boxer Rebellion and Western colonialism.

christianity is way more popular

even in the rural area

the number of Christians in China , both overtly and covertly, is over 50 millions people.

most importantly, the state owned churchs never spread anything anti Islam. that's my personal experience.

lots of CPC officials or governors are Christians, but they just won't make it public.

Taiping Rebellion, Boxer Rebellion has little if not zero impact on Chinese opinions. Most Chinese learnt Taiping Rebellion, Boxer Rebellion in middle school, they never emphasize the religion of those two movement.

Christianity is welcomed in personal level. Islam and other religions coexist in China for more than 1000 years. We don't have problem with Islam religions.

I lived with a Muslim ten years ago, we shared the house for about 1 month. He just cook with his own pot. That's it. No issue, everything normal.

Chinese do have problem with those separatist/terrorist, in national level and personal level. They do grabbed Chinese attentions since 2009, we are scarred to some extent.

But in recent 5 years, things getting better and better. Xinjiang is the most peaceful place nowadays. 150 millions of tourist trip to Xinjiang per year.

When religions are funded by external forces and spreading intentionally it's not as simple as you said.

I'm always against that ' we only have trouble with terrorist and separatist, no problem with religions', this is not true.

Civilization clash is inevitable, now west democracy is no longer threat, religions are biggest threat. US and west are supporting all religions in China.
