F119 from the US, AL31 from Russia, WS-10(CFM56 core) from China
Please show something from UK,France and Germany in the same level.
We do no need to bring F135,AL41,WS-15 yet...
Let's focus on Military Turbine Engine only!
Lmao. You are trying to say China is ahead of U.K in Engine tech??
Whose core engine tech do you think is used in eurofighter typhoon?? we are the main leaders in the Eurojet EJ200 engine consortium and it is largely based on the Rolls-Royce XG-40 technology demonstrator which was developed in the 1980s. our engines also powers the americn C-130 hercules. Our engines are also used in more ore than 600 airlines, 4,000 corporate and utility aircraft and helicopter operate in over 160armed forces around the world. How many armed forces in the world use xhinese engines for their fighter jets? China cant even meet its own needs as its engine isnt reliable/mature as of yet. Much less exporting them
Rolls royce is the second-largest engine maker in the world, behind only GE Aviation of the U.S . to.compare Chinese engine makers with Britain is a huge joke to be honest. I wont even continue this conversation as its a waste of precious time.
Thank you for the post!

Thanks for your answer indeed. I know Germany created the first modern engine, and USSR and USA learnrd from them. Maybe I have to say more clear,Germany indeed produce very good engines for tanks and warships, but I doubt they can build a jet engine as UK to power a third generation plane INDEPENDENTLY. Actually,I doubt France independent engine capability too if without UK or USA help.Well i have no doubt tha China will catch up, since it has all it takes to build a reliable proven turbofan engine. But it will take quite alot of time. However every country has to start from somewhere.
For example British engines were also widely licensed in the US after WWII. As i said earlier, our most famous design, the Nene would also power the USSR's/soviet union jet aircraft after a technology exchange. The soviet later copied it and started exporting them without our consent, and when we demanded compensation for patent infridgement they gave us the middle finger, soviet bastards. Lol
Moreover, American designs would not come fully into their own until the 1960s, before that they were also relying on our designs. So i dont think we should make fun of China , japan or any other country who is struggling to build a reliabke turbofan engine, its not an easy task, its the technologically most challeneging tech/expertise to master and requires alot of time, money, capital, skilled engineers and experience.
As for Germany, are you kidding me bro? All western countries and soviets(bar maybe britain) all learned from the beginning engine tech from the Germans. The allies all studied german engine tech after the nazis surrendered. The He 178 was the world's first jet plane built by germany. So Following the end of the war German jet aircraft and jet engines were extensively studied by the victorious allies and contributed to work on early Soviet and US jet fighters. An examole of this can be seen from the legacy of the axial-flow engine as practically all jet engines on fixed-wing aircraft have had some inspiration from german design.
Moreover, the V2500 turbofan engine is jointly produced by the U.S.A., U.K.and Germany . It powers airbis planes, with over 5000 orders to date. German company MTU also makes grat engines like the PW1100G-JM Turbo Fan Engine whic powers Airbus A20s. In fact many german engines are license built in china and helps powrrs many chinese military equipements from naval warships to tanks etc. Germany is among the tier 1 engines makers worldwide. You shoud also check out The Messerschmitt Me 262 of Germany,it was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft, and was faster than any allied fighters, even faster than our gloser meteor(which happened to be britains first fighter jet, and the Allies' only operational jet aircraft during the Second World War.)
If there is any country i respect the most in Europe and even the world is the bundenstag, they are second to none in all fields and everything they set their sights on doing. Not even the U.S can match them in some fields. 'Deutschland uber alles,'
Thanks.yes,it is what I meant.
You are right. RR is a great company and your people's prideLmao. You are trying to say China is ahead of U.K in Engine tech??

Britain used to be a great empire but does it now? Tommorrow is ever changing. Using history to gauge tommorrow is poor excuse.Lmao. We have been making military engines before your PRC was founded.
until a mass wedding is held, fingers crossed!J-10B are waiting for the WS-10B to materialise with 140KN thrust. Good new is recent rumour is it just passed all the test and going for production. J-11B, J-16, are twin engine and do not require the more powerful WS-10B.
If J-10B can't achieved super cruise, it can't satisfy PLAAF.

UK is the only country that build jet engines at the level of the US.
If the UK had a 5th generation fighter programme, then Rolls-Royce(UK) could easily produce a F-119 equivalent.
UK has not had too much stuff to be proud of.I would say that when it comes the design, the UK is pretty much on par with the US.
But they are still depending on the US on many crucial parts like the disc alloy for instance.
For those who make fun at China's jet engine
China, on the other hand, is independent pretty much on every part.
Once you lose your last pant, what will you remain to be proud of.Lmao. We have been making military engines before your PRC was founded.
This is just some BS news. Does the fact, 490 engine equip the armed forces with defects show rational means?J-10B still needs Russian engine after domestic engine fails|WCT
J-10B still needs Russian engine after domestic engine fails

A WS-10 engine. (Internet photo)
After Shenyang Liming Aircraft Engine Company failed to reduce the failure rate of the WS-10 Taihang engine developed for Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group's J-10 fighter, the Chinese jet will have to be equipped with the Russian-built AL31FN-S3 engine, according to the Beijing-based Sina Military Network.
China has successfully fitted its J-11 fighters, the design of which is based on the Russian-built Su-27, with the Taihang engine. This proves that the country is already capable of building engines for advanced combat aircraft. However, the Taihang engine has been proven unsuitable for the J-10 because its bypass ratio is way too big for the fighter, which would reduce the aircraft's maneuverability during supersonic flight, according to the report.
The failure rate of the AL-31FN engine on the J-10 is much higher than the AL-31F on Su-27 fighters. Unlike the Su-27, which is designed as a twin-engine fighter, the J-10 is a single-engine aircraft, meaning that the requirement of the J-10B's engine is even higher than the Su-27 and J-11. Without a proper domestic engine, China must fit the aircraft with the Russian-built engine until the problem is solved.
Until the problem is solved, the development of J-10B can not be completed since the aircraft was originally upgraded to be fitted with a domestic engine.
Besides this technical problem, China needs to prove for political purposes that it is capable of build domestic fighter engines.
I know some people here don't trust Want.
But according to it, it cites Sina Military Network. Can somebody confirm by searching the original article?
Personal opinion:
1.the third generation jet engine: USA ,UK ,Russia,France and China are the only five countries and all of them have done the job,China is the last one.
2.the fourth generation jet engine:USA has done the job,UK can finish the job with its capability and USA help in several years,Russia is doing the job and will finish it at 2020-2025,China is doing the job and will finish it at 2020-2025 too,France already leave this game.
3.the fifth generation jet engine:USA will be the first one to finish the job,UK will leave the game and become supply chain of GE,Russia maybe leave the game too because it is very hard for it to catch up with new industrial progress with their small industrial scale ,China will keep up with USA but the speed will depend on the national determination.
