Chinese people are used to be treated as children by the government, so its not surprising that Chinese authorities try to regulate and discourage personal believes.

But dude, you know its their country and internal affairs.

Otherwise they will point to us, when they say why are Non-Muslims not allowed to eat in public during Ramadan in Muslim countries.
