China delivers on-orbit communication satellites to Algeria,

Xinhua News Agency, Algiers, April 2 (Reporter Huang Ling) On the 1st, representatives from relevant Chinese organizations held an on-or-delivering ceremony for the Algerian-1 communications satellite with the Algerian space agency. The head of the Chinese side stated that China looks forward to further deepening cooperation with Algeria in the aerospace field.
Yang Baohua, deputy general manager of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., told Xinhua News Agency that the A-1 communications satellite project is an important embodiment of China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership and has created a successful precedent for cooperation between China and the Arab countries in the aerospace field. A-1 is the result of four years of cooperation between scientific research institutions of China and the Arabian countries. During the period, it carried out comprehensive cooperation in the Dongfanghong satellite platform, Long March rocket launch service, measurement and control, and application systems, overcoming difficulties and finally completing the delivery smoothly. .
Yang Baohua said that China attaches great importance to the sincere and pragmatic cooperation with Algeria in the field of aerospace technology and expects both sides to start substantive cooperation in other spaceflight follow-up projects as soon as possible.
Algeria 1 is a geostationary orbit communication satellite customized by China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. It is the first cooperation project between the two countries in the field of aerospace, and is the first communication satellite in Algeria. It will be mainly used for A radio and television, emergency communications, distance education, e-government, corporate communications, broadband access, and satellite-based navigation enhancements. Services and other areas will improve the infrastructure construction in Afghanistan and benefit the people in the surrounding areas.
On December 11, 2017, Algeria No. 1 was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on the Long March 3B carrier rocket to enter the scheduled orbit. After that, both China and Argentina conducted satellite on-orbit tests and completed on-orbit test reviews.
