Profit driven media caters to the peoples psyche rater than there need....if the Media was as u say it is; we all wold be blissfully ignorant and all be happy with our lives.
TRPs are all about sensationalizing a meager reality into something more than it is ...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All this talk about reasons and outcomes ...the fact remains the Govt is gonna do what its gonna do ...whatever reasons and angles these E-ranters come with the fact remains the Govt does everything on its own and seldom asks it oh so enlightened citizens about it..

What i recommend is sit tight and get ready to be brain washed some more by the wonderful free media in the times to come..

The Press Freedom Index ranks Hong Kong as #2 in Asia.

Whereas India is not even ranked in the top 100.

LOL. :D

. . .
I would think that any newspaper that prints such a stupid headline is complete rubbish.

And I certainly would not buy it.

Which explains why Hong Kong newspapers don't write such stupid headlines.

Quoting this post, in case humanfirst missed it.

^I hope you apply the same sense when reading BS articles in the Indian media. It might help with the insecurity

The difference, is that the Indian people want to read these stories, which leads to the profit-driven media whipping up even more scaremongering.

Whereas people here wouldn't pay to read that kind of crap. If the SCMP printed such stories, they would lose all their credibility, and go bankrupt.

Media's revenue doesnt depend on these stories. 98%+ readers dont care a damn about what's happening between the two nations. Newspapers cover all news from national to international to movies and showbiz to sports and even Page3 articles.

The credibility or circulation doesnt have a zero effect on news like these.

Of course they cook up stories . In a days news of about 1000 odd articles , there might be 2-3 maximum on countries around.

Stop generalising as if all you say is true. Cant laugh much.

The two links I gave, the first one was from NDTV, and the second one was quoted from the Indian Army.

Neither of which can be dismissed as tabloid junk.

NDTV is in fact supposed to be one of the more highly regarded sources.

Obviously I won't be talking about "Times Now".

CD, despite the cynicism I implore you to consider that regardless of the publications, hardly any sane person would believe those kind of reports.
Just because The National Enquirer still sells in US doesn't mean average american reads and believes the BS they print.

Not all Indian people are stupid to believe the BS from ToI or other "Indian" papers which most topics are highly exaggerated adding "masala" to keep it interesting.
However there may be have truths to it, it doesn't mean we believe everything that's written. And when people do read this, it gives them a conscious outlook. Idk I guess you just gotta be Indian to understand it.

.
from the looks of it, CD seems to believe the Indian media more than Indians themselves, judging by how many times he posted the ndtv links as "proof"

My point was this-A newspaper/magazine publishing news on impeding conflict is bound to attract more attention, and Its not at all because people want that conflict to happen(as claimed by you) but because of shear concern. You are free to disagree.

They have published such a news..(just searched..lol)

That's why I said I guess you gotta be Indian to understand what the real message is through reading cr@p from NDTV and ToI despite all the artifical flavoring. :D
