Don't worry, every Chinese easily finds the irony in "Thanksgiving" when he/she thinks about the "good Indian". Knowing does meaning appreciation. To be fair the Americans have been quite reserved about such things since it is also very non-PC in the States. One just needs to add a bit of pepper on the the flower version of history.


Also, I am not quite sure, maybe the religion history in the Christian-sphere gave the higher toleration level to hypocrisy. But hypocrisy can be very severe accuse in Chinese culture.

Surely you don't expect Chinese curriculum to consider these 2 as priority.
Are these ethnic Chinese students that enroll in US school? I am confused by your example.
Going by your example, I do not think Chinese would expect an American that enroll in Chinese school to know about Confucius. Do US school teach Confucianism???

And what is that got to do with religious activity in school?
Surely you do not expect Chinese school to have Thanksgiving cerebration, that would cause quite a controversy. Student can learn about Thanksgiving in American history class or they can learn about it by themselves outside school.

This is what happen when US embassy in China try to promote Thanksgiving in 2012.

If you can read Chinese, you can see that there are quite a number of Chinese people that are sympathetic to the fate of Native Americans and don't think much about Thanksgiving.

I've nothing against Christianity and people should be free to practice what they believe but you need to check your reading comprehension skills.

This "ban on Christmas" is anything but. China is merely keeping *all* religion out of schools. If you don't like it, tough shit.

I have things against these know it all too good for everyone Christians. Most of these dimwit Christians don't even know their god''s teaching or care to follow.

Christianity has become roman. It has nothing in common with original christianity. Christmas is an old roman celebration that once was celebrated for the god Saturn. It was called Saturnalia. Virgin Mary is same as Artimisia. Jesus looks exactly like Apollon and god like Jupiter. So much is from that.
