If you admit that China is only a small part in the east, and Tibet, Xinjiang and many of the other parts are foreign territories under the occupation of China, then yes, China was united. In that sense, even India had many kingdoms that ruled over large parts of India, even if it was not all of India.

But if you admit that Xinjiang and Tibet are also Chinese territories, then China became united only in 1765, but China became united only under foreign occupation. The Han Chinese merely inherited what the Qing lost. Of course, you can say the Mongols also united China under their empire.

You bring any third party in and show them the actual maps of China and India while united, they will tell you that India united in 265BC while China united in 1765AD. You don't require anything more than common sense for that.

Indians have always been multilingual. Every Indian knows at least 2 or 3 languages. So it's not surprising that multiple languages flourished in India.

Sanskrit was a pretty big part of South Indian culture. If you actually visit India, you will know it first hand. One of the greatest Tamil dynasties called the Chola dynasties, the name was Sanskrit.
