China Bowled Out for Just 28 Runs in World League Qualifier; Lose by 390 Runs to Saudi Arabia

The words are about the spirit & sportsman-ship of the game.
Considering the changing scenario, it's better we look for a new phrase then. haha.

lol, I know........

I am just getting a lighter side of the sport :)

I think if we were to find another words for Cricket, you can probably say it's a sport of Royalty

It is not exactly a gentleman's sport when India goes against Australia. But oh well sledging is banned yet essential part of the game, both in and out of the ground.

It will take few years but Chinese are expert at Ping Ping and hand eye cordination , in few years they will be producing Boom Boom Afridi calibre player

If you can play Ping Pong you can play cricket, same footwork and cordination is needed to play cricket

I think batting-wise they will become relentless accumulators who run fast between wickets. As for bowling, good combination of fast swing plus quality spin. These are aspects more appealing to the Chinese who are fast and skilled, but low on power.

.
Actually Cricket may be the game for Chinese. Unlike football, cricket is a game of endurance and most importantly skill. Football and soccer can see many upstarts simply based on raw power; not cricket. You need to refine your skill at batting and bawling plus create a winning strategy in terms of team selection, field control, bowlers, knowledge of pitch, knowledge of your opponent etc. Cricket require so much of off the ground work that Chinese will have a major advantage there. Plus it is an expensive sport with cricket kits and special grounds being required. All of those are again in favor of China.

Also if Cricket catches the fancy in China, it will become the global sport. A sport played by two of the biggest populations of the world will surpass any other game. I will love to see rise of Chinese Cricket.

I wanted Pakistan to loose all the matches they play.. But now when it's struggling I want them to win all apart from Indian matches..

I watch Indian matches for their batsmen and think, "BC yeh partition main decide hua tha kay class batsmen saaray India koh milain gay"?

South Asian crowd is the reason i suppose, they never appreciate opposition, just cheer for their own players. no sportsmen spirit, especially bharati crowd.

Similar thoughts did come to my mind when I was young and one after another Pakistani fast bowlers kept coming... In fact Wasim Akram is still my all time favorite pacer. It felt like mixture of magic & poetry when he bowled. Only recently India started to develop some decent pacers..

Wasim and Waqar were pure magic. There's been plenty of new guys with potential since but none that could fill in their shoes. Asif and Amir failed to live up to their potential, there is still hope for the latter to exonerate himself though. Recently, Hassan Ali has emerged as a very promising new prospect.

I think Pakistan's dearth of batsmen and abundance of pacers has to do with the "galli cricket" culture. Everyone who walks onto the crease wants to be Shahid Afridi defending the stumps and Shoaib/Wasim/Waqar when attacking them. The latter goal, I believe is more fruitful. I was a sledger myself, would walk on with a bat and just attack everything. Only much later in life did I realize a smart batsman is always better than an aggressive one.

As far as India's new line up of pacers go. They're still not generating the same pace as say, Wahab is but they've got their line and length down perfect and they're working the ball like magic. I am truly hypnotized by Bumrah's technique though I feel he is still not being fully utilized by the team.

I keenly follow Pakistan cricket (even to the level of domestic tournaments) and support them in Internationbal matches always (except when they are playing against India). I read a lot about the promising domestic players as well.. Bowlers like Tabish Khans with a domestic average below 24 runs per wicket, promising but not living upto potential players like Fawad Alams always intrigued me.

As far as great batsmen go, in my time I saw few great Pakistani batsmen as well.. Mohamed Yusif (former Youhana), Miandad, Inji, Yunus presently. Yes the numbers had been less than the desired level and the current lot (may be except Babar Azam) does not look world class.

I had been very fortunate that I can still pursue this childhood love of mine in my early 40s (74 born) since last 9 years (since I came to Bahrain), which I could not do when I was working in India due to very demanding job. Only if my physical fitness was a bit better, I would have probably given trial for Bahrain national team as well..:bounce: I know couple of 44 year old Pakistani players playing for Bahrain in this tournament itself :P. The 20 year old Pakistani pashtun placer is from my club only. GCC country's teams are mostly monopolized by Pakistani players. They are really good at the shorter version, but fails miserably in 50 over matches, specially vulnerable against slow bowlers (I being a dibly dobly medium pacer myself).

I really wish there will be some sort of cricketing engagement between Indian & Pakistani teams in the future (apart from the ICC events , i.e.).

That sounds great. I wish I had time to play but that hasn't been the case in the longest of times. Back in the day, I transitioned from a fast to leg spin bowler because I felt that everyone was a fast bowler and there were a lot of people better than me. I was actually quite good at spin and was able to manage releases to various effects. I could bowl a straight delivery, cut suddenly or drop entirely after bouncing.
Went for trials for national camp but they were only looking for fast bowlers. Their offer was simple. Bowl over 120kmph and get selected. Didn't happen and I came home dejected. There were simply too many good spin bowlers at that time.

It is like this ; Fast Bowling is very hard work

So kids prefer to Bat

Even kids who play in our Neighbourhood play grounds
all quarell about who will Bat First

In fact IPL has helped saved and revived fast Bowling culture in India
because Now there is Money in it
